Outfit of the Day 29/11/10 and Poll

Hey fashionistas, just a super quick post before I head off to bed!
It was 75 degrees as the high today, so ridiculous! Supposedly on Wednesday the low is supposed to be in the 30's but... I'll believe it when I see it!

Do you like the new color on the walls? My mom has one more coat on another wall left and then the painting is done! Amen! Sorry for the poor phone image.

Cardigan- Kohls (this is my favorite cardi ever)
Tank- Kohls
Jeggings- Costco
Shoes- Bealls
Necklace- Forever 21

Time for a little Monday poll!

1. Mood: Good, sleepy but good! I feel as if I'm always putting sleepy for this question!
2. Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens — what are a few of your favorite things?
Friends, family, kittens, shopping, and of course my blog!

Depends, I probably won't be sporting the look anytime soon!
5. The best advice I ever received was _____.

Made my hair curly without having to use a curling iron!
10. Weekly goals:

My Day in Pictures (and a few words...)

Hey dolls!

This is my dad while he was taping the walls to paint and our cats always jump up there and he was pretending to be a cat! This made me laugh so hard! No I do not know what's up with his socks!

Nothing like a little biology to put you to sleep!
I was reading about plants in case you were curious, and no it wasn't for fun; I have a test on Thursday and decided to read 2 out of the 3 chapters today.

Java literally jumped in my lap while I was reading some of the chapters for biology and scooted the book over. Well he didn't but he made me! He proceeded to sleep on my lap for quite a long time.

I decorated a boring notebook today, I got this great idea from Caro over at *Caroleena85*.
If you aren't already following her then I suggest you do! She has really good crafty ideas and cute outfits!

These Shoes Might Be Made for Walking but..

They might make your feet sore!
Hello lovelies!
Last week my mom and I were in Ross and I found some adorable ankle boots!
They were about $22 I think. My mom bought them for me.
Thank you mommy! And yes, I call my mom mommy!

Side view/front view

Yeah, in case you were wondering I took these pictures on top of my dresser. The lighting was good..

I like these because they aren't tiny, thin heels. They are more stacked. They make me look really tall (well they are 4 inches high!) so that makes my legs look thinner. Which I quite like.

Yesterday I was talking about my blog to my mom and then my mom made a joke that I needed another outlet to get all of my thoughts out. She's right, I do tend to talk a lot.
My best friend isn't all into the beauty/fashion thing and sometimes my mom just wants me to shut up! My sister is less girly so I really did need somewhere to blather about fashion and beauty.
Anyways, thanks for following, commenting, and listening to me blab! I love you guys!

Inspired By: Blair Waldorf (aka Leighton Meester)

Hey dolls!
Twas the night before Black Friday and I'm not letting myself sleep. I'm afraid that I won't be able to wake myself up so here I am doing a little post!

My all time favorite shows is Gossip Girl.
I love the fashion, the scandals, the cast but, most of al the fashion!♥

Leighton Meester's character Blair is probably my favorite character.
I love her bold, preppy, classic style.

This was so Jackie O to me that I fell head over heels in love with this dress! I really like the bold polka-dots, she wears it so effortlessly. It has a classic vintage feel to it.
This was from the first episode of season 4.

I can't remember what season this is from. I think it's from the current season but, I could be wrong.
I love her hair when it's curled, it looks so chic on her. Her makeup is all bronzed on the eyes, light flush on the cheeks, and subtle red lippies. She is gorgeous!

How can there be a Blair/Leighton post without an infamous headband?
Pre-Gossip Girl times (how did we survive?) I was already obsessed with headbands.
They are the perfect accessory and they make it look like you put a lot of effort into your hair.
Blair always wears hers on the right side, I used to wear mine on the left and then I changed to the right. (:

So here's a short rundown on how to make yourself more Blair:

Headbands, they'll never fail you. Don't go Gaga crazy, just something chic.
♥ A little vintage flair will go a long way to making you look put together and classic.
♥ Soft makeup will make you look done up but not overdone.
♥ Something bold to make your look pop and make you shine. I suggest one statement piece, not five.

My Long Overdue ELF Haul/Review

Good morning (or afternoon or evening) my lovelies!
Today I have my long overdue ELF haul to share with you. I think I will also do a mini review of everything (that I've used).

Top (L-R)

♥ Warm Bronzer - $3
♥ Contouring Blush and Bronzer Powder- $3
♥ Cream Eyeliner (in black) - $3

Bottom (L-R)

♥ Pink Passion blush- $3
♥ Health Glow Bronzing Powder in Luminance - $1
♥ Powder Brush - $3
♥ Smoky Brown nail polish - $1
♥ Matte top coat - $1

I opened these to let you see the colors.

I love the warm bronzer, it's not matte it does have like almost a frost/shimmer to it. It doesn't really bother me at all but if you don't like shimmer then I'd stay away. I've been using it to warm up my face and it does quite a nice job.

The contouring blush/bronzer duo is supposedly a dupe for the famous NARS Laguna and Orgasm blush/bronzer duo. I wouldn't know I don't have it. Although my mom does have the blush so let me know if you want a comparison. I really like the bronzer it's perfect for what it says it does. Contouring! The blush part I haven't used very often because I'm so in love with the other blush I bought.

I haven't really used the cream eyeliner I think I used it once. I'll have to use it some more to let you know what I think about it. Maybe a comparison to my holy grail product Stila's Smudge Pot in black? (:

So the Pink Passion blush in the pan (and online) looks like a neon hot pink and I was a little bit afraid of it. Too much and you look ridiculous, this happened once when I wasn't paying attention to the amount that went on the brush but, a little powder can tone it done. When applied with a light hand you get a beautiful effect. I HIGHLY recommend this blush. This is my favorite thing (other than the brush) that I bought.

On the sight they claim that the healthy glow bronzing powder is well a bronzer. I'm not sure who can wear the shade luminance as a bronzer but, kudos to them. I actually didn't buy this for a bronzer I bought it to use as a highlight and it works quite well for that. The only thing I don't like is the packaging, it looks sort of cheap but, for a buck I'm not complaining!

Onto the powder brush. This is AH-MAZING! I wasn't sure if it would live up to all of the hype I've heard about it but, it sure does! So soft and it doesn't shed at all. Next time I place an order to ELF I might buy a backup! If you don't already have this then you need to!

I had seen swatches of the Smoky Brown polish and it looked like a nice fall/winter color so I bought it and I've worn it a lot this month! It will probably end up in my November favorites. You can get away with one coat of it but, I opt for two (if I have the time).

I have yet to use the matte top coat mainly because I'm not sure of what polish to put it over! Any suggestions?

I also wanted to say that I really like all of the packaging of the Studio line products, the look sleek.

On a side note Happy Thanksgiving!

I'm not a huge fan of turkey so here's my favorite Thanksgiving thing (that I beg my mom to make year round!)

Green bean casserole! Sound so nasty but tastes so good.

*Image from google images*

I think I'll take a Thanksgiving OOTD and post it tomorrow because we're going to my aunt and uncle's house.

Are any of you doing Black Friday shopping? I am, my mom, sister, and I are going to Kohls and Target.

Imperfections and Perfections Tag

Hey dolls(:

This tag has been making the rounds in the beauty community on Youtube and blogs, so I'm jumping on the bandwagon!
For those of you that don't know about this you have to say three imperfections you don't like about yourself and then three things you do like about yourself.

Imperfections

1.) The scar on my right arm. It really bothers me, it's quite large and when I'm hot it turns red. I try to cover it up but, it really just bothers me. And I don't like talking about it so when people ask me about it I get really short with them.

2.) My legs. I reallyyyyyy don't like my thighs and my calfs. My calfs are really large and they aren't even fat, it's muscular. So wearing boots over my jeans doesn't look good. I get an ice cream cone effect. That's why you'll never see me wearing that.

3.) I have a scar type thing right next to my right nostril and it's from a pimple and it looks like a pimple but really it's scar tissue.

Perfections (well things I do like about myself)

1.) I really like my eyes when I have contacts on. They aren't even colored contacts or anything, without my glasses on my eyes look really blue/green. I get complimented on my eyes a lot.

2.) My hair. I'm really proud of the fact that it's au naturale. No dye, no highlights, nothing. People are constantly asking me if I dye/highlight my hair and the answer is always no.

3.) My lips. I have really full lips and they're naturally very pigmented. Although this does limit me from being able to wear lipstick. The things we sacrifice.

Let me know if you do this tag, I find the answers really interesting.
I'll be posting a blog sale either tomorrow or Friday. Just a little heads up(:

Poll and Update

Hey fashionistas, sorry for the major lack of posts!

I haven't posted for a WEEK I have feel so guilty!
Last Wednesday is when my consistent blogging went downhill, I woke up and didn't feel good that day so I stayed home from school and didn't do a post.
Then Thursday I planned on posting but, I had a government and geometry test to study for!
Friday I was packing for my trip that my mom, aunt, and I took over the weekend.
Saturday we drove there and when we got to the hotel I had planned to do a post or two.
Turns out they didn't have free wifi. What the heck! Who doesn't have that!
So I didn't get back until Sunday night and yesterday I wasn't up to posting so needless to say I've seriously slacked off!
Which stinks because I had done a post for everyday of the month (or two if I had slacked one day) up until last Tuesday.
Thanksgiving break started today (after school) so I will be able to do some posts(:

End rant.

This is my mom and I while on our mini vacation at dinner.
(This was on the 'large' setting so I'm not sure why the picture looks so small)

Here's the poll.

1. Mood: Sleepy, longggg day. I am going to bed after this little post.
2. What are you thankful for this year? My family, my friends. This year a lot of people that I'm close to have gone through some bad things and I'm glad that they're all still with us.
3. Do you have a pet? Three technically. I have one cat who's mine. His name is Java. Then there is my mom's cat Cocoa (who I don't like, she is a beasttt). Then we have the other monster Colby (the puppy)!
4. How many hours do you sleep at night? 7-8 for a school night, if it's the weekend I would love for more but I never truly sleep in until noon or anything.
5. What beauty invention do you wish someone would invent? A dark circle corrector, I have some serious dark circles right now!
6. Your most embarrassing moment? So many. My most recent one was almost a year ago, I was in a restaurant with my best friend, my mom, and my sister, and my best friend said something totally unexpectedly hysterical and I had just taken a sip of my drink and it came out of my nose and then I threw up I was laughing so hard. Mortifying!
7. Your all-time favorite TV show? Gossip Girl. Other's include Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives and the Real Housewives (except Orange County- I never watched it, Atlanta, and DC)
8. Lipgloss applicators — brush or doe foot? If it's a nice brush then a brush. If not then doe foot.
9. Pajama pants in public: fashion forward or faux pas? Since when is this normal? I've worn pajamas once in public (other then when I was say 4) and that was to school ON PAJAMA DAY!
10. Weekly goals: Sleep, read chapters 7,8,9 (haha) for biology, workout 4 times this week, and start a new book! I just finished Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella,it was really good. Oh and do some more posts on here!

I haven't forgotten about the ELF haul I asked about in my last post. I will be doing that tomorrow! I promise(:

Oh and for those of you who haven't seen Prince Java before, here he is!

And here's Colby, I don't have any pictures of Cocoa (she's an all black kitty).

Let me know if you guys decide to do the poll.
As always, thanks for following and commenting, it means so much to me!

Super Mini Haul

Hey fashionistas today I have a teeny, tiny, baby of a haul.
I'm not sure if you could even call this a haul.

On Saturday my mom and I ran into Ross (yes again!) I picked up two things.

This is the dress I got.

This is the detailing on the sleeves.

And here's the little shrug I got.

Wasn't that the smallest 'haul' ever? (:

Thanks for commenting and following!

Do you guys still want to see what I bought from ELF (correction that I bought from ELF forever and a day ago)? I procrastinated on posting it and then it got so late that I didn't bother, so if you want me to then let me know!

I Made a Twitter and Update

Hey girlies!
I keep meaning to tell you guys that I made a twitter. I thought I would do a little blog post here to let you know in case you wanted to follow me.
(image taken from Twitter)

Anyways.

I am so exhausted! I got up at like 7:30 this morning! Around 11 I finished up my backboard and journal for science fair. Sadly my partner for it hasn't finished the research paper and I have to copy it into the journal. It's due tomorrow, I'm a bit mad with her.

On to the fun things I did today.

1. I made a delicious (from a box) Funfetti cake!
Yumm(:

2. I went to one of my best friend's birthday party. We went out to dinner and we were going to go to the movies but then the times got all messed up and I didn't end up staying to see the other movie. I went home and I expected my science fair partner to have sent me the research paper so I could just copy it but, "she's only halfway done". I'm really irritated.

I think while I wait anxiously for her to send the paper I am going to do a post of my 'baby' haul.
I only have two things to show you guys.

Expensive Pink's Giveaway

Hello fashionistas!
Before I finish my science fair board I thought I would do a quick post.
Over on Expensive Pink's blog she is having an amazing giveaway!
She's giving away 3 prizes!
One $50 MAC or Sephora giftcard and two $25 MAC or Sephora giftcards.

I think I'm going to try to do another post today, after I wrap up science fair. Tonight I have a party to go to, so we'll see if I actually get a post done. I did make another trip with my mom yesterday to Ross and I got two things, maybe a baby haul? Who knows!

Veterans Day Haul

Hello fashionistas!

I just thought I would share what I bought today (and my mom bought for me).

Ross
It's a Jessica Simpson bag and I'm in LOVE with it. This is one of my birthday presents, I told my mom to hold on to it until my birthday. First I had to share it with you guys!

Here's it with the long strap.

Ross
This was from New York and Company (which I love that store).

At Costco I also picked up a pair of dark jeggings (which surprisingly look nice on) and a pair of jeans. Nothing super special. So I didn't picture these.

Ulta
This is in the shade 'Almost Famous'.

Just In Case
By the way sorry for the poor phone pictures, my other camera was dead and I couldn't find any batteries.

NYX- Yogurt

At my ULTA there was a 2 for $10 going on select OPI polishes.
These are the two I chose.

*Image take from Google Images

This is 'Cajun Shrimp'

* Image taken from Google Images

This is Charged Up Cherry

That's all for now because I am off to work on my science fair board and journal. The whole thing is due on Monday. My partner is doing the conclusion and the research paper.

Hope you all have a great weekend! I'm so happy that it's Friday!

Seventeen Ultra LipGloss Review

Hey fashionistas!
Hope you all had a marvelous day(:
I did! I got a 93% on my biology test (the one I for sure thought I did badly on).
I was so happy!

On to the review!
A couple of weeks ago I won a giveaway from Liza over at her blog Beauty is Within.
These are a brand that aren't available in the US so I was super excited to win these!

Here are what they look like.

*Image take from Liza's blog*

On the left is Golden Rose (45) and on the right is Starry Pink (20).

Here are swatches of them on my hand. My camera couldn't capture how they really looked on my lips, so these will have to do.

Left- Golden Rose (my favorite) and Right- Starry Pink

Golden Rose is a Pinky brown color with a hint of gold shimmer.
Starry pink is exactly like the name implies! It is a light pink and it has lots of sparkles, but not so much that I don't like it. I do love sparkle! Also the sparkles don't feel gritty on you lips.

I think the packaging is simple and classy.
I love the texture of these glosses, not sticky and very smooth.
These are also pretty pigmented (especially on my super pigmented lips).

I am so happy to have won these!
Thank you so much Liza!
If you don't already follow her then head on over to her blog now!

Look of the Day - 9/11/10

Dearest fashionistas,

I have a bit of an addiction to outfit of the day posts, I love reading them,I love commenting on them, and I love posting them.

So here's what I wore today.
Oh but before that here's a little story about my day.
So today was academy photos (I'm in AICE) so my bag weighed like a TRILLION pounds and because the line to get in the gym was a hundred deep I decided to dash to my locker to drop of some textbooks. It was only a hall over so I left my stuff with my friends. So when I got back the hallway was completely DESERTED! Short of the story is I didn't get in the AICE photos (and I'm a bit bummed).

Anyways back to what I was going to wear for the picture (actually I was going to wear this before I even realized that it was photos today).

My mom painted the kitchen over the weekend, hence the tape on the wall.
I feel like I look really short in this picture.

Close up of my face.

Jacket: Jones New York (Costco)
Tank top: Kohls
Shirt: Forever 21
Jeans: Levis
Shoes: Payless
Earrings: Forever 21

Today when I got home I did all of my homework (geometry and biology) and it was super easy.
Thankfully geometry was only eight problems (this made me happy). Biology was only key terms (all 45 of them). I had done 30 of them in class so I didn't have that much to do.
Also I folded and put up a load of laundry and I did another load of delicates. I am so on top of my laundry!

Eye Makeup of November 8th, 2010

Hello fashionistas (or makeup-istas)!
I feel like adding 'ista' to the end of a word makes a really cool word.
Yeah I'm a dork!

Anyways here is another neutral look that I did with different colors but it kind of looks the same as my last EOTD.

Here are the products I used
  • VS Beauty Rush Creme Shadow for a primer
  • Urban Decay loose shadow in 'Baked'
  • Wet n' Wild trio (only the top and bottom color) In 'Sweet as Candy"
  • LA Colors in 'Traditional'
  • Sleek Original palette I used the second to last color in the top row on my bottom lash line
  • Stila Smudge Pot in 'Black' (♥)
  • Rimmel Lash Maxx
  • Maybelline Falsies

First I primed my eyes with the VS Beauty Rush Creme ShadowThen I took Urban Decay's Midnight Cowboy shadow (it was a sample so that's why it isn't pictured) and put it all over my lid. This reminds me a lot of Stila's Kitten e/s.
Then I took the UD pigment in Baked and put it on the outer 2/3rds of my eye.
Because this pigment is CRAZY glittery I took the second color from the second row of the Traditional palette and put it over that to reduce the glitter effect. And I blended these togehter.
Then I took the dark brown in the Wet n' Wild trio and blended it into my crease/outer corner.
After this I lined my top lashes with Stila's smudge pot in black.
Then I curled my lashes, applied the Rimmel mascara and then a coat of Falsies.
And I used the cream color from the Wet n' Wild trio for my highlight.
This is an optional thing, I like the bit of color.
I put primer the outer corner of my BOTTOM lash line with my VS primer.
And then I took Sleek Original palette I used the second to last color in the top row on my bottom lash line.

I know this is REALLY similar to the other look I posted but, it's a bit more sparkly. I used some different products so it's kind of different.

Well I need to study a bit for a government quiz that I have tomorrow (tomorrow, it's onlyyyy a dayyy awayy!). After that I plan on watching Gossip Girl!
