Christmas Presents

Hey fashionistas!

Sorry for the lack of blog posts, I've been sick this past week and today was the first day that I've been out of the house.

I've been dying to show you guys what I got for Christmas, so here I go!

My stocking, filled with some goodies(:

Necklace and barrettes are both from Forever 21.

My mom knows me so well, I love bows so much!

The socks have little Scotty dogs on them; my mom bought these because the mascot of the college I want to go to is a Scotty dog!

The beret is more of an off-white than it's showing up.

These are both also from Forever 21.

This is from my sister. There's notecards, a cute owl wallet, a carmex (love!), some coffee, a Christmas tree lollipop, and two Santa chocolate candies. She's too sweet!

Last but not least, my fancy Toshiba laptop!

I'd known I was getting this since November, but I was still super excited.

My dad got me this case and a plain black one (they were a set).

I think I'm going to buy a webcam for it. Any suggestions?

I went shopping today with my best friend (hi Lily if you're reading this), my aunt, and my mom. So I have a haul post for you all later, most probably tomorrow.

I'll also do my December favorites probably tomorrow or the next day, I might schedule it for Monday.

The Monday Poll

Sick, tired, and stuffy (nose). Hopefully I'll feel better tomorrow.

2. Best thing that happened to you in 2010?

Oh geeze, let me think. Well I guess I have a couple. This blog was a good thing, I've made a lot of new friends this year, I got to do a lot of traveling this year, and I've become even closer with my family.

3. Worst thing?

2010 was a pretty good year for me. Here's hoping that 2011 is as well!

4. Your biggest beauty revelation of 2010?

In the very beginning of 2010 I didn't contour and now I do. I realized that it does make your face look even slimmer and more defined.

5. Your biggest personal revelation?

I guess my biggest personal revelation is that I don't have to have everyone like me. Everyone is different and some people don't mesh.

6. Something you’d like to cross off your bucket list in 2011?

I'd like to lose more weight. I've lost about 10lbs so far and I want to lose about 20 more.

7. Plans for New Year’s Eve?

I actually don't have NYE plans. Probably just watching the ball drop with my family.

A Little Bit of My Room

Hey fashionistas!

I'm still feeling pretty bad but I went to the doctor today and turns out that my sister and I both have sinus infections. Hmm shocker there!

I don't know if this will interest any of you, but I thought maybe you would like to see my room.

I share a room with my sister so this is my side.

I'm a little bit obsessed with Paris, I want to go there so badly!

If you can't tell this is my dresser, I keep pictures, cards, and little knick-knacks up there.

The card with the bird on it is one of my favorite cards ever; my mom gave this to me 2 years ago on my birthday because I have a fear of ostriches (actually all birds)! The front says "In order to be irreplaceable, one must always be different." - Coco Chanel

This is the area next to my bed. Right now it's a bit cluttered with bags from presents, normally it's cleaner.

I've been on the hunt for the perfect, plain white comforter for months and cannot find one! I want it to be very fluffy and just plain white. Sadly I haven't been able to find a comforter like I want that isn't super expensive or in the right size.

The S and P on the wall were made by my mom. She's so artsy! She free handed the damask print on both of the letters!

These are the pictures that hang over my bed. The pictures and the frames are both from Hobby Lobby.

The overall 'theme' of my room is very girly, Paris-y, and fashion inspired.

Oh, guess who's birthday is today! Colby's! He's a Christmas pup.

He's officially 1 year old, no longer a 'puppy'. Although I think he'll behave like a puppy (minus the house accidents and such) until he's a couple years older. He's quite a hyper dog but, his sweetness makes up for when he's bad.

This was one of the many pictures we took while trying to get a good Christmas card.

For the record Colby isn't really allowed on the couch.

Nail of the Day

Hey fashionistas!

I had some exciting things to post about today but, I'm just not feeling up to it. Whenever I feel better I'll show you what I got for Christmas and my overdue birthday "haul".

I wanted to show you the new polish I picked up the other day.

It's Wet n' Wild's "Wild Card", the number is 465.

The color pictured above is more darker than it is in real life.

It's a nice purple with a pink shimmer running through it. It went on sheer so I put on 3 coats. I didn't mind doing 3 coats because it dried super fast! This is pretty true to life.

Excuse my dry cuticles!

This is day 2 with 3 coats on.

I think you guys should definitely check this out. It's only $1 so even if you don't end up liking it won't break the bank.

15 Random Facts About Me

Hey fashionistas!

Right now I'm currently sitting on the couch in my pajamas because I am sick. I have some sort of a cold/sinus infection; those of you who have been following me from the beginning will know that I can't ever get just a cold. My colds always turn into sinus infections. Over the summer I had a sinus infection that just wouldn't go away! I was on multiple antibiotics for 3 months and nothing would get rid of it! Now I have another sinus infection (ugg!) so tomorrow my mom is going to try to get me an appointment to see my doctor.

Anyways, while I'm sitting here I decided to come up with my own little tag to do. So I tag all of you to do this!

Here are my 15 facts:

1. I really like cheesy Lifetime movies (don't judge!).
2. My first concert was a Hilary Duff concert.
3. I have a 'slight' makeup addiction (but you all already knew that).
4. I am super close with my mom.
5. I watch a lot of Bravo shows. I love all of the Real Housewives shows, Top Chef, and Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live.

14. My favorite perfume is a toss up between DKNY Be Delicious (Lily bought me this for my Christmas/birthday, thanks Lil!) and J'adore.

Smoky Candy Cane EOTD

I hope you all had an amazing Christmas (and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you had an amazing day!).

Here's the "Smoky Candy Cane" look.

My eyebrows looked all funky in these pictures, they did not look like this the rest of the day.

This is the palette that I used for most of the colors. I hadn't used this in a long time!

• VS Creme Shadow for a base
• Essence Surfer Palette the white color for my inner corner color
• Flirt Limited Edition palette from 2008, I used the last color in the 4th row from my inner 2/3 of my eye outwards
• Then I used the 4th color in the 2nd row on the outer corner.
• I used the 2nd to last color in the last row in my crease/outer corner
• For my highlight I used the top color on the left of the Vanity palette from Wet n' Wild
• Stila smudge pot in black
• Rimmel Lash Maxx
• Maybelline Falsies

For some reason this just really reminds me of a candy cane!

My Favorite Beauty Products 2010

Hey fashionistas!

I've been seeing a lot of bloggers posting their favorite beauty products of 2010, so I thought I would do mine. I'm not sure if they have to be new products from 2010 or products just new to you. My favorites are a bit of both.

By the way these are in no particular order.

Orly "Close Your Eyes" polish.

I took this months ago from my mom's bathroom and let me say that it hasn't made a return trip! It's a beautiful magenta color, opaque in 2 coats.

ELF "Smoky Brown" polish, or as I call it "Smoky Bear".

I think that this is the best fall/winter polish. It's very neutral and I love it. Normally I like pinks, reds, or deeper colors but this is amazing! Plus it's only $1. Seriously, what's not to love?

Co. Bigelow Lip Glosses

So maybe this isn't just a 2010 favorite. More like an all time favorite. Not just in this shade either, all of the scents and flavors are so amazing! They are super glossy and they aren't sticky at all. Bonus they are minty and on the package it says to have "breath freshening benefits".

ELF Contouring and Blush Duo

A new favorite of mine, but none the less a favorite! I don't really use the blush side (it's very sparkly) but I use the bronzer to contour everyday. It's not too dark for the winter at all. Plus it's $3 compared to the infamous Nars duo which I believe is $36; I'm not positive about that though.

NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Powder in "Pink Cheek Glow"

I bought this in I think April and I used it a lot and around October I stopped using it because I had put it in a makeup bag that I had in a random purse. I found it and I re-discovered my love for it. It really does give a nice glow, it isn't the longest lasting blush though but if you apply a creme blush under it then it has a longer lasting time.

EOS Lipbalm in Summer Fruits

Seriously? Do I even need to explain my love for this? I think not! If you don't already have one then I suggest you go buy one!

Wet n' Wild "Vanity" palette

This is a new product to me (like I bought it a few weeks ago) and it has already become a staple in my makeup! My favorite ones are the first on the left for a highlight, the 2nd on the left for a midtone color, and the bottom two for crease colors. This was so cheap and the quality is incredible, Wet n' Wild has seriously stepped up their game.

Stila "Kitten" eyeshadow

I use this basically everyday as a base color my bronzey looks (and other looks) also it's a great inner corner color. If you don't have this then you should, it flatters many (if not all) skintones.

Maybelline's "Falsies" mascara

This was a new product from 2010 and I have to say, it was love at first coat. I like to layer it over Rimmel's Lash Maxx mascara for a truly dramatic look.

As I said above I like to layer a coat of this with a coat of Falsies over it. This is the best lengthening mascara I've ever used.

Stila Smudge Pot in "Black"

I love cream eyeliners so much because of this! They glide on so nicely! If you aren't up to paying the $20 then I suggest the ELF Studio line cream liner in black. I promise it's just as good. I switch off between those two. I really do need to do a comparison post! One of these days....
