Weekend Recap

Hello fashionistas!
Sorry for not posting for a few days, I've been busy!
Yesterday I woke up at eight, got ready, and went shopping with my mom and her friend. Then we went out for lunch at the Cheesecake Factory.

I got carmel chicken, which I just had to snap a picture of for the blog.
Mom and I also split a piece of their 30th anniversary cheesecake, so delicious!

After that we went to Costco to pick up a few things.
Then we rushed back home and I primped for homecoming with my best friend, Lily. We then went over to another friend's house to take pictures and then we went out to dinner. I'm going to do a post on homecoming sometime next week, I just don't have time to do it today, it would take far too long!

After homecoming Lily came home with me and spent the night. Then we woke up and lazed around for a bit. She left and then I proceeded to finish this book called Three Wishes by Liane Moriarty. This book was SO good. You should definitely check it out. After completing the book,  I typed up an essay for my French class.
Now I'm taking a quick break from chemistry studying. Oh fun!

I promise to do the homecoming post this week, we took loads of great pictures that I want to share with you all.

Lots of love!

Statement Flats

Hello fashionistas!
I thought I would do a little shoe post today.
Being a mere 5'3'' I tend to opt for heels or wedges, but when I need to give my feet a break I bust out the flats. I buy wedges or heels that can be worked into multiple outfits. When I buy flats I like to have variety in my shoes, so I look for more flamboyant flats.
Here are the statement flats I'll be wearing a lot this fall/winter.

Clockwise: Nine West (Marshalls), Ross, and Forever 21.

Sometimes I like to throw in a little flash of metallic in my outfits, so these shoes were a perfect find. I like to wear these when I'm in jeans, tanktops, and slouchy cardigans. Add some earrings and a simple bracelet and you're good to go!

When I feel the need for a little edge to my girly outfits I like to mix it up with these studded flats. They take my sweet and girly look and make it look more edgy.

Whenever I'm in the need for some sassy footwear, I put on these pizza toe, cheetah, kitten heels (which are basically flats to me)! They instantly make any outfit look classier and sassier! I like to mix them with blazers, jeans, sparkly shirts, throw on a chunky bracelet and I'm ready to hit the road.

Do you all have any shoes that make a statement? Let me know!

I'm off to shower and get ready for my day tomorrow. I felt sick today, so I didn't go to school. I'm sure I'll be doing a ton of makeup work tomorrow. I also have a chemistry test on Friday, I'm dreading it!

Lots of love!

Ins and Outs #7

Hello fashionistas!
I figured I was due for another ins and outs post. I like doing these posts because I feel like you guys get to know me on a more personal level, not just my makeup and clothing!

INS

1.) I'm so obsessed with the new show Revenge.
The cast is great, the fashion is fabulous, and the plot is so full of twists! Melissa and I decided that it was kind of like Lost, only not science fiction-y. More like Lost with elite Hamptonites! You should definitely tune in, you'll be hooked.

2.) So cliche, but I'm so happy about the crisp fall weather! Florida is always hot and humid, so the second the weather turns cool I spend as much time outside as possible. Today I took my dog on two, hour long walks.

3.) I've been really into baking lately. I love making cookies for the clubs I'm in at school. Today I made double chocolate chunk cookies for my High Q club. We have a meet tomorrow, but I'm not going to be there because I'm driving down to pick up my mom from the airport.

4.) Lipstick! I used to not be into lipstick, I felt that it was drying and just didn't flatter me. Now I can't stop wearing it. I'm venturing into different colors. I am no longer wearing just pinks, I'm testing the waters with reds and darker fall colors.
On my to-buy list is Revlon's Violet Frenzy lipstick. It's so pretty!

5.) I'm currently obsessed with 2 new songs. Criminal by Britney Spears and Wild Heart by Sabi. Check them out  here and here.

6.) With the cool fall weather comes drinking hot coffee!
My best friend and I love "fall bevvies", translation fall beverages. It's just too hot to drink hot coffee, so I typically order my coffee iced.
Little things like hot coffee and scarves scream autumn to me!

OUTS

1.) I'm really over stressing about things that don't matter. Petty fights with friends are pointless, worrying about things that are out of my control is pointless.
From now on, I'm going to not worry about the little things. I'm going to focus on the people I love and who are important to me.

2.) I'm probably one of the few people out there that doesn't love Halloween, but I just am not a big fan. I'm ready for it to be done!

That's about it for my ins and outs. I don't have very many outs this time, oh well!

Have a grand week, lots of love!

A Fabulous Gift!

Hello fashionistas!
I thought I'd share with you all the present my Nana brought me this week. She also brought me two shirts, which I didn't picture because I wanted this little gem to be the focus.

Nana said that when she saw this that she just thought it would be perfect for me. She was so right!
I love this dress so much. I can't wear it now, but I will definitely be wearing it as soon as possible, I'm thinking Easter.

I love the hot pink color of it, it's just quite a statement. This dress hits me just below the knee. I feel like some silver, peep toe heels would be perfect for this dress. Or possibly silver slingbacks.

There's a subtle texture on the polka dots, just thought I'd focus in on it for you all.

Thank you so much Nana!

Now for a little personal update.
This weekend has been quite busy and it's only Saturday night! Yesterday I went home with my best friend, Lily, we went out to dinner. After dinner we met up with some of our friends and walked around downtown and got a cup of coffee and pastries.
Today I went and got my haircut, pictures to come soon! After that I went and hung out with the other best friend, Melissa, and we walked around downtown again. We got a late lunch (tacos, which were delicious). After getting a little dessert (Melissa got a fancy popsicle and I got gelato) we stumbled upon a wedding! Mel and I are both wedding saps, so we stopped and watched them exchange vows. It was really great! It was the first wedding we had ever both "been" to. Our best friend teacher is getting married in a few months and their initials happen to be C and D; the two people who were getting married also had the same initials.
Congrats to C&D, the unknown wedded couple, may you have a fabulous marriage!

Tomorrow I'm going homecoming dress shopping with Lily. I have mine all squared away, on the other hand, she doesn't. Wish us luck!

Have a fabulous weekend! I have no school on Monday, so my weekend will be extra long and great!

Teal, Black, and Curls

Hello fashionistas!
I though I would share what I wore today with you all.
My mom is away visiting her family, so photo props go to Nana, thanks Nan!
Also, this is my hundred and one outfit post!

Sorry for the strange smiles in the upclose pics. Not sure what was going on with my mouth!
Also, sorry for looking extremely pale, macro was on. I like macro the most, even if it does make me look pale.

Top: JCP Jeans: GV Blazer: Kohls Shoes: Target

I raided mom's closet today and borrowed this shirt. Thanks mom..
I thought the teal would look great with the blazer, so I just needed to borrow it.
The metal grommets on it caused me to forgo any accessories, which is a very rare thing for me to do.
Today was the first chilly day down here in FL, so I opted to curl my hair.

For my makeup I channeled my inner Rachel Zoe, aka my idol. I love her! Dark lipstick, subtle flush to the cheeks, mascara, and liner on the bottom lashline. Super easy.

While I was comfortable in my blazer, half of the school decided to wear parkas/sweatshirts. Floridians are so annoying about the cold, they act like it's below zero. I kid you not, I'm walking outside to a class and some guy said "man it's like negative degrees out here, I'm freezing!" It was literally only 65 degrees. I silently started cracking up.

School is going pretty well. Grades are due on Tuesday. As of now it looks like I'm going to have all As and one B in chemistry. On the history test I took last week I got a 98% , which I was extremely pleased about!
All of my other classes are going well, chemistry is just tough. I'm happy with a B in it, because it's a weighted class it will still be worth 3.5 points (GPA). All of my other weighted classes should cancel out the B.

Any-who, I'm off to go do homework. If I want to keep my grades up, I have to work for it!

Lots of love!

Gwen and Janice- Halloween Party

Hello fashionistas!
I though I'd share Lily and I's halloween party costumes.
The theme was to dress as a musician, so I decided to go as Gwen Stefani because I knew I could easily throw on a dress, heels, poof the hair, and rock some fun makeup. Lily decided to go as Janice Joplin, who was from the 60s. Lily opted for this because she didn't come up with a costume until the night before. Basically she made her hair even crazier than normal and slipped on some retro glasses, which she could not see out of all night due to the fact that she's out of contacts.

Dress: New York and Company Shoes: JCP Bracelet: F21 Lipstick: MAC Red

Here's my inspiration for my costume.

 Here's Lily's inspiration..
Attractive. Nice coke bottle glasses. Which Lily rocked that night.

The party was pretty fun. A bunch of people who are in bands at our school played. Whenever there is a party all of the band guys insist on bringing their amps and 'jam out'. I typically don't recognize most of their songs. Oh, and there was a "bass battle". It was so lame, I'm not even sure who won!

Haulin' It Up!

Hello fashionistas!
I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a few days! I've had another super busy week/weekend.

Yesterday mom and I shopped it up at the mall because I needed shoes for homecoming and then we bought some other things..

Mom and I hit the Sephora and picked up a couple of things. The primer potion duo was on sale for $19, down from the original $26. I was happy that I saw this because I'm almost out of my original primer potion.
I needed more of my Benefit boi-ing concealer, so I also picked up that.

We also went to MAC because I went to a Halloween party last night as Gwen Stefani, and I needed a red lipstick. I bought M.A.C. Red.
Here's a swatch of it.

Afterwards we ran into Forever 21 for a few minutes and I found this bracelet. I loved it,so I ended up buying this too.

Ta-da, homecoming shoes! Our theme is 'Neon' (which is such a lame theme, just throwing that out there).
These shoes are from JCP. We had checked 4 other shoe stores and any shoes I liked were all too big on me or not high enough.
Then we ran across these and I fell in love. My dress is black so I thought I'd do a little pop of color in my shoes. I wore these with my Gwen Stefani outfit last night to break them in before homecoming, I didn't want my feet to hurt that night!

It's been a really nice weekend. I'm currently with the best friend, Lily. We're watching Say Yes To the Dress, aka on of my favorite shows. I really like wedding shows!

Have you guys done any hauling this weekend?

Lots of love!

Better Late Than Never... September Favorites!

Hello fashionistas!
I've got my super late September favorites for you all to see!
I've been using a bunch of sample products for my face that my aunt passed onto me.

-Maybelline Purestay Powder Foundation in 'ivory'
-Smashbox Photo Finish Primer (deluxe sample)
- Smashbox Photo Finish Bronzing Primer (deluxe sample)
-Neutrogena Healthy Skin Blend sheer highlighting blush in 'Healthy 26'
-Aquaphor
-Pure Ice 'Rumors'
-Maybelline brow pencil in 'light'
-Got2B 2 Sexy hairspray

I've been using the Photo Finish primer on my face before I put any concealer on, then I've been using the Maybelline powder foundation, and setting it with a Physician's Formula translucent powder to set it all. I've been taking the Smashbox bronzing primer and putting it on my cheeks to give a healthy, sunkissed glow to my face. I've been warming my cheeks up with the Neutrogena blush, it gives a really nice peachy/coral-y glow.

In my last post, you may have seen that I bought a new Aquaphor for those dry spots around my eyes, but before that I was using the mini Aquaphor for my hands. Pottery really dries my hands out.

Another cheap, Pure Ice nail polish that I've fallen in love with. It's a dark magenta/red cream nail polish. I've been wearing it on my toes for over half of last month.

I've had this Maybelline brow pencil forever, but I recently started to use it again. It's great to fill in sparse spots in my brows.

I ran out my Sebastian Shaper Plus, so I had to buy a new one. I purchased this with the hopes that it would live up to my beloved Sebastian.. It did! I used it to hold my curls in the other day and they lasted all day. I'm pretty happy with this one, I might go back to Sebastian once I run out of it. Sebastian is my true hair spray love.

Did we have any favorites in common this month?

Mini life update, starting... Now!

My county has gone to 9 week exams, so this week is all review and next week is testing. Tomorrow is PSATs, which I'm nervous about. School is killing me this year, I have so much work to do!
I have to do a history review tomorrow and the test is Thursday. La la la, all work and no play.
I had a High Q meet today and our JV team won, the varsity team didn't.
I probably won't post again until Friday, sorry guys!

Lots of love!

Weekend Haul!

Hello fashionistas!
I spent the night at Lily's house on Friday, then spent Saturday morning getting coffee and having a good time. Afterwards I did a little shopping with my mom yesterday and thought I'd show you all what I picked up.

I got this new nightgown because honestly, who doesn't love new, soft jim jams? I know I do!
I love the casual lace mixing with the cheetah print.

The nightgown informed  me that it wanted a robe that would go with it, so naturally I had to get this robe.
It is SO soft. I never want to leave it.

I randomly ran across these shoes and they're a size 4 1/2, they looked pretty big to me, so I tried them on and they fit like a glove.. Or shoe. They're Nine West, I think these will look good with jeans and a blazer. A little pop of silver!

I got all of these items at Marshalls.

After Marshalls, mom and I ran to Target to pick up a few skincare items. Around the sides of my eyes I've been having really dry, patchy, red, irritated skin.
This never happens because I take really good care of my skin. I'm going to do a skincare routine post soon.

Anyways, I bought the Dove to wash my face with, the Aquaphor to put on the patchy spots around my eyes, and a new moisturizer/cream. Only it isn't new because I've been using this product for years, I just bought the cream version.

Have you all done any hauling this weekend?
Do tell!

Black and White

Hello fashionistas!

Here's another outfit of the day, I wore this to my High Q match on Tuesday.
I know, I'm wearing the white blazer AGAIN. Sorry, I'm just a tidbit obsessed with it.
Sorry for the tape on the door, mom and dad painted it over the weekend and it was still too tacky to tack off.
The first thing I said when they painted was "hey, new backdrop for my outfit of the day pictures!"
Hehe, always thinking about fashion.

Dress: Forever 21 Blazer: New York and Company Shoes: Target Necklace: Lia Sophia

I went for a classy look seen as we had our first High Q match and we're supposed to dress up (not that I don't always dress up). The JV team won our match, but the varsity team didn't. The JV team doubled the other team's score, we rock! Our varsity did not do as well. We'll get them next time!

Today I had my 2nd Cameramics meeting, it went well. I'm really enjoying being so active in clubs this year, I've met a lot of new people.

Tomorrow I'm going home with my best friend, Lily! We haven't hung out in what seems like forever. Sleepover at her place and then our usual ritual of going to get coffee in the morning.

I'm so happy that  tomorrow is Friday!

Lots of love!

White Out

Hello fashionistas!
Long time no blog! Sorry I've just been so busy and I haven't really had anything to blog about.
I wore this outfit to school last week.
I purchased this blazer last week with Lily at New York and Company, I got it on major sale... It was originally $70 and I got it for a mere $11! That's what I call a steal.

Sorry for the weird face in this, I'm not sure what I was doing!

Blazer: New York and Company Top: birthday present Jeans: GV Bracelets: F21 and mom's Earrings: F21 Shoes: Target

These heels are quickly becoming my favorite shoes. Once I broke them in, they became rather comfortable to wear.

Tomorrow I have a chemistry test and a French test. I'm really worried about the chemistry test, I'm hoping that I do well. I've studied a lot for it. The French test should be a piece of cake. Just -re and -ir verbs and prepositions. Easy.

After school tomorrow I have my first High Q match. This means I'll be at school until 6 tomorrow night.
I'm thinking that tomorrow is going to be a LONG day.

I promise not to disappear again!

Lots of love!
