Too Faced Romantic Eye Palette Review

Hello beauty-istas!
The other day I was on Apothica and suddenly had the urge to purchase something.
I blame Stephanie's blog post about the Too Faced Romantic Eye palette, as soon as I saw it I wanted it!
Apothica was having a President's Day 20% off sale, so I applied that to my purchase. It took this palette down  from $35 to $28, once you factor in shipping I still saved $2. Which in my makeup obsessed train of  thought seemed like an irreplaceable deal.. What can I say, I love me some makeup!
I placed the order on Wednesday, received confirmation that it shipped on Friday, and I had it in my hands Monday afternoon! Apothica also included a few samples, which I thought was a nice touch. I love little extras.

The shades in this palette are very versatile. Soft and delicate, to sultry stunners. Some matte, some shimmer. I feel that it has the perfect amount of different colors to do many, many looks. I liked this palette because of the neutrals and the purples. I was debating between buying the Natural Eye palette or this one, but my mom pointed out that I had Naked 1 and 2. So I decided to get something with more than just neutrals!
Also, I adore the wedding theme of the names, too cute!

Left to right:
Soulmates, Kiss the Bride, Bouquet Toss, I do, Cut the Cake, Honeymoon, Unveil, First Dance, Ever After

These eyeshadows are soft and go on like a dream. I had no fallout problems when I used it this morning (not that I didn't totally swatch as soon as I got it in the mail). I can't wait to use all of the colors.
This morning I did a purple look.

I can't get enough of this and will probably be using it non-stop for quite awhile!
Can't wait to try out all the shades and other Too Faced palettes...
I have a makeup buying problem!

If you want to purchase this, click here. Apothica usually has some sort of 10% off deal running, just check their "Special Offers" section.
I will definitely posting some different looks on here soon!

Have a great day!

Contrasting Color Pops

Hello fashionistas!
I wore this outfit to school on Friday. We had a lab in chemistry where we were using acid and we had to wear closed toed shoes, I thought this was the perfect excuse to whip out my new shoes!

I had really wanted these, but hadn't purchased them. I came home from school the other day and my mom had bought them for me! Totally made my day.

Blazer: New York and Company Top: Michael Kors (Marshalls) Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Necklace: Forever 21 Shoes: Rock & Republic for Kohl's Lipstick: MAC Speed Dial

I was in a "ready for spring" mood and decided to wear a blue shirt with a bright white. I wanted to contrast the color of my shirt with my shoes. A little glimmer in my necklace was all I needed.
I love this necklace, I bought it at Forever 21 for a mere $6. It's really long, I doubled it up here. I realized that I can even triple it. Such a good buy!

I am in complete love with these flats, they are super cute and bright. Perfect for spring. The R&R metal logo is really adorable. On the website they claim to be red, but in reality they're more of a pink-coral color. Above they appear really hot pink, but I think it was just the flash. They're definitely a good pop of color, but they also have them in black.
If you want to check them out, here's the link!

My aunt is coming over today and we're all just hanging out. Currently watching NCIS, there's a marathon on USA. I love NCIS.  I'm so not looking forward to school tomorrow, especially if the weather is still dreary and rainy.

Loads of love!

Rusty Red and the Little Black Dress

Hello fashionistas!
I feel like I haven't posted an outfit of the day in a million years!
Here's what I wore to school yesterday.
Dress: Forever 21 Blazer: Kohl's Shoes: Belk Necklace: Forever 21

I just really wanted to wear this new blazer/jacket. I love the color so much, it's like a rusty red. Simple little black dress and my new black, kitten heels. For a bold accessory I added my big flower necklace. This outfit was really easy, but looks like it took more effort than it actually did!

I pulled my top layers back in a mini ponytail and I pushed it up with a clip for some volume. I used a straightener to curl my hair. For my makeup I went for a bronzy peachy cheeks and gold-bronze eyes. This cheek color has become my new favorite, I'm planning on doing a post about it soon!

I just made an Apothica order two days ago and I can't wait for it to get here, it just shipped so should be here soon! Will definitely show you all!

I am so happy that it is Friday. My Grampy is in town, yey! Other than hanging with the family and studying for a test I have on Monday. A very relaxed weekend!

Have a glorious weekend!

Revlon Colorburst Lipstick Review

Hello fashionistas!
Today I wanted to review Revlon Colorbust Lipsticks. These have quickly become my favorite lipsticks.
I'd picked these up awhile ago from Target when they were on sale.

On the left we have Fuschia and on the right we have Coral.

Swatches Coral on the left, Fuschia on the right.

The pigmentation that these have is phenomenal. The colors are so vibrant and come out exactly how I expected them to be.
Not only are they heavily pigmented, but they are also very moisturizing with a nice glossy sheen. When I wear these I don't even have to layer a lipgloss over them. I really want to check out the other shades in this line. I also adore the quilted print on the packaging, too cute!
At $8.99 these lipsticks are pretty well priced. If you look around you can typically find these on sale, either buy one get one half off or just a sale price. I found mine for only $3 a piece at Target, but that was a few months ago.

Overall I would definitely recommend these to fellow lipstick lovers!

Have any of you tried these out?

Haul Time

Hello fashionistas!
This weekend I did some shopping with my mom and aunt. My mom had a 30% coupon for Kohl's because she's has a Kohl's charge so we went there on Sunday.

I am in complete love with this dress by Elle. It's sort of color-blocked, which is going to be huge again this season. I'm working on color-blocking, I'm never sure if it looks good on me! I like this because it's already color-blocked and the pattern makes it less obvious. I love the bow belt, cinches in and looks really cute. This dress is really good for my figure.

 I picked up this blazer that was on mega sale. You guys know I'm such a huge fan of blazers. They are my signature piece! This is a bit big, but I wanted it loose. I didn't have a grey one or a plaid one, so obviously it had to be added my collection! (;

I've also been on the hunt for a colored jacket/blazer. So, I found this rust colored blazer. It's like a lighter fabric, not so structured. It does have a lapel like a blazer, so I'm calling it a blazer! I do not like the way this photographed, it looks so boxy! When I tried it on it wasn't boxy.

My mom and I ventured over to JcPenny today and I found this adorable shirt for only $9! That's right, single digits! Their new pricing system is kind of weird, but I'm not complaining because if this shirt hadn't been on sale it would have been in the $30-40 range. I like the color because I think it will be really good for spring, a nice pale pastel. I think the gold buttons are super cute. Plus it fits in with my current obsession, bow blouses.

I needed new shoes really badly, but I've been on the hunt for pointy ("pizza-toe") black heels for awhile. I found a pair that I liked and that were comfortable! These are from Belk.

Today I worked out and then went with my mom to an eye appointment. I got my new glasses in, I'll put them up in a post sometime next week. I need to get adjusted to them, they were making me dizzy earlier!

I'm off to get ready for tomorrow and watch the Bachelor.
I'm not looking forward to jumping back into school because of the nice 3 day weekend I've had. Hey, at least it's a shorter week!

February My Glam Bag

Hello fashionistas!

Back in January I had signed up for the My Glam bag. I thought I had been signed up for the January bag, turns out I'd been signed up for the February bag. It costs $10 and you get deluxe samples, coupons, and sometimes full products.

This month's cute hot pink and hearts bag came with:
X Out Shine Control deluxe sample
NYX Roll On Shimmer in Light Blue
Premier Dead See Cinderella Mask
NuMe Professional Styling Tools and Hair Extensions $100 gift card
Freeman Facial Mask Sachets in Pineapple (for me, the other possibility was Goji Berry)
A Ghiradelli chocolate for Valentines Day

Swatch of the NYX Roll On Shimmer.

Here's what I think about the bag.
I think for $10 it's worth it. I am one of those people who likes receiving surprises in the mail, so this was right up my alley! You can sign up for one month at a time or a year at a time. It renews your monthly subscription unless you cancel it.
I was going to sign up for Birchbox, but my aunt is a member of it and based off of what she gets I'm not really that impressed. Although I may sign up for it one day, you never know.

I think the size of the X Out Shine Control was a good enough amount to be able to test out the product for more than one time.

I like the concept of the NYX roll on shimmer. I think it would be really good for girls who don't like using many eye products. I'm not wild about the color, but I probably will use it.

Premier Dead Sea Cinderella Mask is supposed to have "life enhancing" minerals.

The $100 online giftcard to NuMe professional styling tools and hair extensions is nice. Too bad you aren't allowed to purchase any styling products (i.e. heat protectant, hair spray) and everything that you can purchase is over $100. Which is too be expected because the company still has to make money, but I don't have an extra $80 for a blow dryer. I don't think I'm going to use this.

I've been wanting to try the Freeman facial masks, but I'm a little disappointed that this is what I received. I'm just saying that I could pick this up when I'm out grocery shopping at Publix.

I've yet to try any of the facial products, but if anything is super amazing I will report back!

To check it out click here.
I'm already signed up, so I will be receiving the March bag. I love getting mystery packages!
Have any of you signed up or received My Glam bags?

Preppy Girl

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you all another preppy look I put together on Monday.

Sweater: Bealls Chambray: Vintage Jeans: Belk Necklaces: Tiffany and Co. and assorted faux pearls from my mom Shoes: Target

I'd been wanting to wear my chambray shirt underneath a sweater and I thought that this argyle sweater complimented it well. I accented the preppy factor with a feminine string of (faux) pearls. I curled my hair for a girly look.

Layering button ups under sweaters has quickly become a new favorite thing of mine!

Here's a picture of Colby that my mom snapped the other day. Isn't he adorable?

I got my chemistry test back and I made a B on it! Happy about that.
I need to go do some studying for a math test.

Loads of love!

Blue Valentine

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you all what I wore to school today. I wasn't feeling the Valentines pinks and reds. I did opt for a pop of color in my purse. I love just having a little pop of a different color in my outfits. It's just adds more interest.

Shirt, tanktop bracelet: Forever 21 Skirt: Coldwater Creek Necklace: Tiffany & Co. Heels: JCP

I actually borrowed this shirt from my best friend, Lily. I had picked it out when we were shopping and told her to try it on and then she bought it. So I borrowed it today! I love the polka dots and sheerness. I wish I had purchased it....
I wanted to wear my blue heels with it and added panty hose because it was chilly this morning.
The pencil skirt just worked with this because I wanted something that was straight and not flow-y.
I totally spaced and forgot to hold the purse I used when we took pictures, so there is a picture of it below.

For makeup I did subtle, brown smokey eyes paired with a hot pink lip.

This is from Goldfinch, which is a boutique downtown Saint Augustine.
I'm not sure if they sell online or anywhere else.

My sinus infection is slowly but surely starting to depart. Yey!
I have to go study for my chemistry test which I am taking tomorrow morning. I also have history homework. Gotta go hit those books for awhile!

Happy Valentines Day!

Currently Wanting.

Hello fashionistas!
As usual I've been looking at makeup and beauty care products. What can I say... I have a problem!
If only I'd chosen a cheaper obsession hobby.

Nars Sea of Love set from Sephora
You get a mini Super Orgasm, mini Orgasm multiple, mini Turkish Delight lipgloss, and full size Laguna illuminator. For $49 this could be mine (or yours). I was all set to order this today, ready to go, pumped even. First Nars order. I've always wanted to indulge, but always felt too guilty. Seriously, $28 for one blush is a lot of money. When I saw this set I thought "woah, that is a deal."
As you all probably know you need $50 worth of merchandise to get free shipping from Sephora.
This irritated me to no end because then I had to find another product that I wanted, that was also cheap. Everything I wanted, that was cheap, was out of stock. What am I going to do? I guess buy something not as cheap and still order this. If I order it by tonight I get a free, full size Buxom Big and Healthy Lip Balm.
Alas, I really want the lip balm. To buy or not to buy, that is the question.

Over at Apothica I found this fancy set of classy soaps. It's called Pre De Provence. It's only $16.50 for 9 soaps. Which I think is a really good deal.
It has coconut and shea butter in it. I think it would make my skin really soft. Plus the soaps are just so, so, so cute! I also think that this would be a good present for a girl (like me) who loves fancy bath products!

Are you guys lusting after any products?

Okay, I'm off to go study for my history test. My teacher has literally been giving us a test every week for the past month or so. Plus essays. I'm really tired of feeling like all I do is study! I also have to make up the chemistry test I missed on Friday because of a doctor's appointment. I'm worried about it, I'm going to have to put a lot of studying into that.

Have a good week!

Skin-care Routine

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to share my skin-care routine with you all.

To remove my makeup I use the Pond's Cold Cream. This stuff is hardcore, it removes waterproof makeup effortlessly. Sometimes in the winter when my skin is dry I will slather a bit of this on for a few minutes and wipe it off. It rehydrates my skin very quickly.

I pretty much will use any Dove or Olay soap bars to wash my face off before I exfoliate or use a cleanser. Winter Care just happens to be what I'm using right now.

St. Ives Apricot Scrub for Blemish and Blackhead Control has been my go to exfoliator for years. I know it is too harsh on some people, but it works perfectly for my skin. I use it about 3-4 times a week.

The Olay Foaming Face Wash makes my face feel extra clean and fresh. A little bit of this goes a long way.

Biore Pore Unclogging Scrub is my all time favorite face wash.  I know it claims to be a scrub, but I feel like it's a very soft exfoliant. I use this daily. Sometimes I try to switch products, but I always end up coming back to this one.

Olay's Active Hydrating Beauty Cream is exactly what it says to be, hydrating! I've been using the Olay Active Hydrating Beauty Fluid for years, but I decided to try out the cream for the fall and winter months and I love it. Very thick and moisturizing. I also love the smell of it.

For pesky little spots I use Neutrogena's Rapid Clear Acne Eliminating Spot Gel. My mom and I have been using this forever and I feel like it truly works. If I feel a spot coming on I will try to catch it before it actually surfaces and I typically can stop it with this.

Another product I've used for years. I don't really use this for a cleanser, but more for a mask. I typically use it every Sunday night for 20 minutes. It's a really great deep cleanser.

I really think that you should treat your skin well and take good care of it now, before it's too late for it to matter. I hope to stay wrinkle free for a long, long time!

Do you guys use any of the same products?

Have a great weekend!

Check for Prep

Hello fashionistas!
Here's what I wore to school today.

Shirt: Ralph Lauren Sweater: Kohl's Jeans: Belk Shoes: Me Too is the brand, but they were a gift so I don't know where they're from Necklace: Tiffany and Co. Headband: Ross Bracelet: Local store

I was going for a J. Crew vibe with this outfit. I thought the plaid shirt underneath the sweater was very preppy. Then the headband and loafers just made it even more preppy chic!
When I walked into my French class my friend said "Wow, you look like you just stepped out of a J. Crew catalogue!"
I was like goal accomplished!

I did the same eye makeup that I did in this post, but I also added a little bit of brown eyeliner on the bottom.

I've become sick the past 3 days. Last week my sister had the sniffles and a sore throat and now I do. I feel terrible! My ears are all plugged up and I'm sneezing non-stop. I'm pretty sure it's this faux spring weather in Florida, there is a lot of pollen everywhere. I'm not sure if it's turned into a cold or a sinus infection, but I'm ready for it to be gone!

Tomorrow I have a big French test, so I need to go finish studying.

Have a great day!

January Favorites

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to share my January favorites (which coincidentally have been some of my go to products for this month)!

Urban Decay Naked 2 palette
Maybelline Dream Mousse blush in Cloud Wine
Milani Secret Cover Concealer in Natural Beige
Covergirl Wetslicks AmazeMint in Ruby Riot
BioSilk Silk Therapy
Milani nail polish in Disco Lights
Pure Ice nail polish in Fast Lane

My favorite shadows in this palette are YDK, Suspect, Verve, Snakebite, Bootycall, Foxy, and Blackout.
I love the intense pigmentation and smoothness of Urban Decay's shadows.

Left to Right: Ruby Riot, Cloud Wine, and Natural Beige.

Ruby Riot is great on it's own and over many different lipsticks. Plus it gives you a minty fresh taste!
Cloud Wine provides a nice, berry flush to my cheeks.
I originally bought this concealer to cover up spots, but it is way too light for spots, so I use it under my eyes to cover up dark circles. They say you're supposed to go 2 shades lighter for under eye concealer and this is perfect for that. I'm probably going to investigate their darker shades because I like the consistency of this concealer and it's a lot cheaper than my Benefit Boi-ing!

Left to right: Fast Lane, Fast Lane with Disco Lights on top, and Disco Lights.

This has been my go to pedicure for at least a month. I really like the way the glitter looks on my toes. Sorry you can't really tell, capturing glitter on camera is really difficult!

I've been loving BioSilk's Silk Therapy because it gives me heat protection, smells delicious, and makes my hair even softer. Thanks to Nana for giving me this! I doubt I'll buy it once I run out, it's almost $20. I also feel like it will last me awhile because I've had it for over 2 months and have not used that much. You need about the size of a nickel to put in your hair after showering.

Well, that's about it for this monthly favorites post!
Are we loving any of the same products?

Gossip Girl Makeup Look Recreated

Hello fashionistas!
Whilst watching this weeks episode of Gossip Girl, I was inspired to recreate Blair's (Leighton Meester) wedding makeup.

Inspired by picture.

Simple, subtly smokey pink makeup with a hot pink lip. Gorgeous.

Here's my take on it.
I went for a little bit of a brighter lip. I opted for no false lashes and used brown eyeliner to bring out my blue eyes.

Top: American Eagle Earrings: Forever 21

Face

Beneift Boi-ing concealer
Maybelline Pure Stay powder foundation
Physcian's Formula translucent powder
ELF Contouring and Blush duo (bronzer only to contour)
ELF Pink Passion blush
ELF Warm Bronzer on my cheeks

Eyes

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Wet n' Wild pink shade from the Sweet As Candy trio (thanks to Amber for sending me this!) all over the lid
MAC Twinks in my crease and outer V
Urban Decay Naked 2 Bootycall and Foxy to highlight- Bootycall first then Foxy to tone down the shimmer
Milani brown Eyepencil on top lash line
Covergirl Lashblast
Urban Decay Naked 1 Naked in my eyebrows to define

Lips

Revlon Colorburt lipstick in Fuschia
CO Bigelow lipgloss in Pink Mint over the lipstick
Revlon Lilac Pastelle lipgloss over both of these to tone down the fuschia

I think my lips turned out way brighter than Leighton's did, but I was happy with the color. Leighton's eyeshadow also appeared to be matte, but I went for shimmer. I honestly couldn't find a matte pink in my stash to dupe this look with. I'm much more of a sparkle and shimmer girl!

Hope you all like this recreation!

Loads of love!
