Pops of Patterns

Hello fashionistas!
Sorry for not posting for a few days! This week has been crazy busy! I feel like I've been nonstop busy.
I would have posted yesterday, but I had a big test to study for all afternoon. After studying I went out to dinner with a few friends.
Anyways, this is what I wore to school yesterday.

Sorry my face looks overly glow-y. I didn't use my regular camera for these!

Shirt: Gap Blazer, pants, shoes: Kohl's Bracelet: gift from the boyfriend Necklace: Tiffany & Co.

I've gotten into the swing of pattern mixing. I paired this blue v-neck that I swiped from my boyfriend's closet (it's a Gap tee shirt) and paired it with a subtle grey plaid blazer. I also added my toecap cheetah prints flats for another pop of pattern. These Dockers pants are quickly becoming my favorite pants. They're slimming and very comfortable. After getting into school I had to ditch the blazer because I was so so so warm. Why is Florida not cooling down? It is still a hot 88 degrees during the afternoon.
I want blazer weather... NOW.

Oh, the boyfriend surprised me with this adorable silver heart charm bracelet. He said he foudn it and knew I'd love it because it was so similar to my Tiffany & Co. necklace. I really want to get it engraved.

I wore my hair down and did a simple neutral smoky eye with my Naked 2 palette. I love Verve all over my lid with Snakebite in the crease. It is my favorite combination!

Tomorrow I have a physics quiz, but other than that I have no other tests tomorrow. Although I do have a pre-calculus test to study for over the weekend. Oh pre-calc, a world of imaginary numbers and graphs. A world that I don't really understand.

I am looking forward to having a relaxing weekend. I have zero plans other than prepping for my precalc test. What about you all?

Wishing For...

Hello fashionistas!
I have not done a wishlist of clothing/makeup I'd like to have in awhile, so I thought I'd go ahead and do one.

Lately I have become completely obsessed with leopard and or cheetah print, so I really want to have an animal print cardigan for fall. I think it would provide the perfect amount of sass to any ensemble. I found a few that I like. I would prefer to find one in brown and tan, but I cannot find one online. Eventually I'll find one in store and buy it.

This cardigan is from Forever 21.

This cardigan is from Kohl's.

Another thing that I've been wanting (not just for fall, but for a really long time) is a monogrammed initial necklace. I think they are so chic and they really add a personal element to any outfit.

The final thing that I'm lusting after is the Urban Decay Vice palette. This palette is extremely beautiful.
I don't really need another eyeshadow palette, but..... I really want it.

Le sigh, it is too gorgeous.

What are you guys lusting after?

Today my boyfriend is coming into town for the weekend, I cannot wait to see him. Two weeks is too long!
Have a fabulous weekend!

Prints, Please.

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to share an outfit of the day with you all! I wore this to school yesterday.
Oh, also, here's my new haircut. I ended up channeling my inner Heidi Klum, I'm very happy with how it turned out!

I can't wait to pair this top with a pencil skirt.

Top: Loft Cardigan: JCP Jeans: Kohl's Shoes: Belk Necklace: Tiffany & Co. Bracelet: Claire's

After buying this shirt from the Loft I was dying to wear it. I've turned a corner and I've started to love prints.. I know, not something I ever expected to love, but when they're balanced out with a solid I actually love them! I decided to pair it with my bootcut dark wash jeans. I wanted some color, so I stole my mom's coral cardigan. I love this cardigan because it's incredibly soft, but also interesting because it has these little circular details next to the buttons/button holes. I paired my a chunky blue bracelet for a contrasting color pop. I thought that the pointy heels balanced the whole look out.

I pinned my new bangs over and left my hair straight as a pin. Which is what it is naturally.
I long for naturally curly hair, but it will never happen. They always say that you want what you can't have..
I did a simple purple eye with my Too Faced Romantic Eye palette- totally obsessed with this palette!

Today I came home and biked 12 miles, my legs are killing me! I was glad that I didn't have too much homework because it gave me time to do some laundry and relax.

I'm currently reading a book called Prep by Curtis Sittenfeld and it is really good.

Here's the book summary.

Lee Fiora is an intelligent, observant fourteen-year-old when her father drops her off in front of her dorm at the prestigious Ault School in Massachusetts. She leaves her animated, affectionate family in South Bend, Indiana, at least in part because of the boarding school’s glossy brochure, in which boys in sweaters chat in front of old brick buildings, girls in kilts hold lacrosse sticks on pristinely mown athletic fields, and everyone sings hymns in chapel.

As Lee soon learns, Ault is a cloistered world of jaded, attractive teenagers who spend summers on Nantucket and speak in their own clever shorthand. Both intimidated and fascinated by her classmates, Lee becomes a shrewd observer of–and, ultimately, a participant in–their rituals and mores. As a scholarship student, she constantly feels like an outsider and is both drawn to and repelled by other loners. By the time she’s a senior, Lee has created a hard-won place for herself at Ault. But when her behavior takes a self-destructive and highly public turn, her carefully crafted identity within the community is shattered.

I thoroughly recommend you all go check it out. Not sure what I'll move onto once I'm done it, but I'm sure I'll find something just as entertaining.
What are you guys currently reading? Any suggestions?

Weekend Haul - Loft, H&M, Forever 21, Gap, and JCP.

Hello fashionistas!
This weekend I went shopping with a few friends on Saturday. We had loads of fun and bought quite a few adorable things. I love shopping with girlfriends, they are always the most honest with you (right next your mom)! Here are some pictures of what I bought. I actually went back on Sunday with my mom because I did not buy a pair of shoes from H&M, but I decided I still wanted them and went back. I also picked up a few things on the return mall trip.. You all know how it is!

This first shirt is from H&M. Our H&M just opened and there were people everywhere. I had to wait in line for a dressing room for almost 25 minutes! I decided to buy this shirt because it is incredibly soft and I thought it would be a good basic addition to my wardrobe.

These are the flats that I had to go back to H&M to buy. I really like them because they're a lovely teal color that will be perfect for a pop of color in fall outfits. Plus they were only $15, steal!

I bought another shirt from the Gap because one really cannot ever own too many tee shirts. It's a little big, but I like it that way.

My mom and I stopped in JCP and I fell in love with this slouchy, bright blue sweater. It's a cashmere blend and is incredibly soft. I basically want to snuggle up in it forever.. (;
I think I'm going to wear this for picture day at school because the blue will make my eyes pop.

I ran across this gem of a dress at Forever 21. I bought for homecoming (which is sometime next month). Get ready for the ridiculousness of this statement... You've been warned.
I'm actually not going to go to the dance, I'm just going to get ready with some friends, take pictures, do the dressed up dinner thing, and head home. School dances have never been my thing, not really a fan of the 'dancing' that goes on. Anyways, this kelly green dress fit the bill (price wise and style wise) for my 'homecoming.'

This was the other item that I purchased at Forever 21. I love large statement necklaces and the braided beading is super chic. I couldn't believe that this was under $10.

My buy is from the Loft. I had originally tried this shirt on and the one below, but opted to only buy the one on the bottom. The entire store was having a 40% off sale, but I thought it was only full priced items only, so I didn't buy the shirt above because it was on sale. I kept thinking about this shirt, so the girls and I walked back to the Loft and I bought it! It ended up also being in the 40% off sale, so it was only $13. I adore the leopard pattern.

This is the last shirt that I bought from the Loft. I love the subtle ribbing and the peter pan jeweled collar. It's chic and comfortable. I can envision many outfits with this top!

Have you guys done any shopping lately?

Loads of love and I promise not to abandon the blog again!

Haircut Help!

Hello fashionistas!
Today I made an appointment for a haircut on Saturday afternoon at my salon.
After making the appointment I realized that I actually had no clue what I wanted to do..
I haven't had my hair cut since December (hello ten months ago) because I've been growing it out. I've been using this BioSilk Silk Therapy Leave in Treatment which has prevented me from getting split ends which has also prolonged the growing out my hair experience.

I'm not looking to do anything drastic. I'll probably just end up with a few layers and side bangs, a la Heidi Klum. Once it gets cooler here (it was literally 85 degrees today) I'm thinking about getting full on bangs.. Maybe.

I'm also loving this haircut. It's a little bit shorter and more blunt.

Any thoughts on what I should do?
Have you guys recently been bold and chopped all of your hair off?

Loads of love!

Pleased in Pink.

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to share what I wore to school on Monday with you all. I was going for a casual look because I wasn't in the mood to get super dolled up.

Pink shirt: Vintage Black shirt: Target Pants: Kohl's Flats: Kohl's Bracelet and necklace: Forever 21

This pink shirt was actually my grandfathers from forever ago and it is incredibly comfortable. I feel like it adds casual flair to the outfit elevating it from the basic tee shirt and pants combination. I'm absolutely obsessed with these leopard flats because they're cushy and give a great pop of pattern.

I went with basic makeup and added a pop of color with my red/pink lips.

Tomorrow I have a pre-calculus test and I went and met up with a friend to study for it. I have a little bit more to go over by myself, but other than that my homework load wasn't bad tonight. I also fired my first pottery project and it ended up pretty well. Maybe I'll post a picture of it after I glaze it.

Have a great day!

Weekend Wrap Up.

Hello fashionistas!
I'm sorry that my posting has been spotty, I've just had so much going on.
Here's a little weekend wrap-up.

Friday night I spent the night babysitting, which is always a blast.
Saturday I had a family party to go to in the town that my boyfriend's college is at, so he came with. I'm sad we forgot to snap a picture of us together/outfit pictures. Sigh. Anyways, I really loved seeing him. We probably won't get to see each other for a few weeks (sigh), but we'll survive.

Today I met up with one of my best friends, Melissa for lunch. First we stopped at Panera for food and then we wandered over to this little cafe called The Hyppo and had tea.

The tea came on these adorable trays with timers to let us know when it was all done steeping. It was basically the cutest thing ever.

Mel and I were stopped at a red light conversing and I had to snap a picture of her while she snapped a picture of me. Too funny. No, I don't normally take random pictures while driving, and by normally I mean ever.

Here's the picture she sent me (after we were done driving, obviously).
I call this car my 'Swag Mobile' because it so big. It isn't actually mine, my mom/dad just let me drive the car when they don't need it.

I have a psychology test tomorrow, so I had to come home and study.
I have a strong disdain for Monday tests. Just sayin'.

Here's a shot of my bed... Currently a small mountain range of laundry. Yeah, I need to fold that/put it all up after I finish this post. I swear it never is like this, I just did a lot of laundry this morning.

I came home to freshly baked cookies from my mom.
The chocolate crinkle ones are my favorite. They're actually Ghiradelli brownie mix with a few extra ingredients in them. Super tasty!

Anyways, that's what has been going on this weekend. What have you guys been up to?
I will have an outfit of the day up on Tuesday (probably, unless homework/school is absolutely insane, which is always a very real possibility). I'm off to go fold the copious amount of laundry I have.

Thanks for following!
Loads of love!

Quick 5 Minute Face.

Hello fashionistas!
I haven't done a makeup post in eons, so I thought I would share what has become my quick five minute face. I've realized that some days I just don't feel like wearing a ton of makeup, so this looks put together, but is also super easy.

*Please excuse the messy hair! I slipped my hair back into a loose bun.

On my face I used:

 Benefit's Boi-ing concealer
 E.L.F. Translucent powder
E.L.F. Contouring bronzer for some warmth on my cheekbones
Too Faced blush in "Who's Your Poppy?"

On my eyes I used:

Too Faced Lashgasm mascara
Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Whiskey to tight-line my upper inner lash line
Urban Decay Naked eyeshadow to fill in my eyebrows

On my lips I used:

Stila's lip liner in Devoted
Co. Bigelow lipgloss in Spiced Chai Latte

Devoted has quickly become my go to berry toned red liner. I think it is going to be a great shade for the upcoming fall/winter months. What do you guys normally do for your 5 minutes faces?

Today I took a few tests and quizzes. Everything went well. I'm glad I spent all of yesterday studying, it really paid off! I also finished the construction of my first pottery project of the year.
I can't wait for tomorrow to be here, I love Fridays! I'm just babysitting, but that's still fun.
What are your weekend plans?

Parisian Polka Dots and Red Lips

Hello fashionistas!
I want to apologize for the serious lack of blogging. I've been plain old busy!
The boyfriend was in town for the long weekend and I wanted to spend as much time as possible together.
Anyways, I wanted to share an outfit that I wore to school on Friday with you all. This look was inspired by my love for Paris. I will go there one day, I will.

Dress: Target Jacket: JCP Shoes: Not sure, possibly Aerosoles Belt: Kohl's Necklaces: Forever 21 and Tiffany & Co. Lipstick: MAC Red

I purchased this dress because I am obsessed with polka dots, they're probably my favorite pattern. I thought that the denim jacket complimented the look well. I paired a red belt with the dress because it made for a nice contrasting pop of color, plus it worked with my Parisian red lips. I wore these brown shoes because I liked the gold circle cutout tying into the polka dots. Tres circular ( ;

I paired my long blue necklace because the dress needed a long layering accessory.

I went with a sassy red lip because it felt very Parisian to me and I'm tres in love with anything Parisian. I kept the rest of my face simple. I wore my hair straight and pinned over. I really need to get a trim, I haven't had one since last December! So long ago.

Today I got a physics test back and I got 100% on it, super happy. I also received an exciting package in the mail, can't wait to share it with you all, but first I have to try it out for a few weeks before I can review.
I hope you all have a fabulous week.

PS: Look at the gorgeous red rose the boyfriend got me. Red just like my beloved MAC Red lippystick..
 So sweet. xo
