New Shoes

Hello fashionistas!
This weekend was very relaxing! I spent Saturday morning getting a mani/pedi with my mom. Then we went to lunch, did a spot of shopping, and had a quick Costco trip. That afternoon I went to the beach with my sister and soaked up some sun. This morning I woke up, finished my Sidney Sheldon & Tilly Bagshawe book, The Tides of Memory, went to yoga, then went to grab lunch with some friends and study for a history test. All in all a busy, but enjoyable weekend.

I wanted to share the new shoes that my mom bought me at DSW this weekend.

These Nine West heels were on mah-joooor (am I Rachel Zoe yet?!) sale; they were less than $30. I love the floral mixed with the pointed toe. Cannot wait to wear these.

I always love having a pair of black wedges for spring/summer because they are the perfect shoe to go with dresses, shorts, and skirts. These were comfortable and cute.

This song has been stuck in  my head for days and conveniently goes along with the subject of this post!
I love this song..

My mom and I randomly stopped into Victoria's Secret and I picked up a new pair of the Boyfriend sweats. I have not bought a new pair in over a year. I've dropped down from a medium to a size small, woo!

Anyways, I'm about to crawl into bed. I am very tired. I'm doing this body pump class again tomorrow at the gym. It is a low weight lifting with really high repetitions. We did so so so many squats on Friday that my legs are JUST NOW starting to feel better. I'm pretty sure I waddled all day Saturday..

Hope all is well!

Sunday Shopping

Hello fashionistas!
Today I did a bit of shopping with my mom. We woke up and went to yoga together and then went out for breakfast. We decided to also hit a few stores while we were out.

I ran into Loft with my mom and tried on a few different pieces of clothing. I decided that I had to have this shirt. It was really comfortable and the colors will be great for spring/summer.

My sister is a flip-flop stealer and tore the thong of my shoes apart. My mom and I went to Marshalls and picked up some flip-flops. These were only $10 for Kenneth Cole Reaction! While at Publix I picked up a new mascara (really the same one I've been using) and Essie Turquoise and Caicos nail polish- I've been wanting to buy this for forever!

My Iphone case had started to get gross/fall apart, so I have been on the hunt for a new case. I absolutely love this chevron printed case!

While at Costco this weekend my mom and I  perused the books and walked away with three new ones. I think I am going to start the Sidney Sheldon/Tilly Bagshawe novel tonight.

Yesterday I went to buy glazes for my ceramics class with a friend and our teacher. That night I babysat and had a ton of fun with the kids. After my busy Saturday and a full day of shopping and  yoga I am going to have to call it a night and curl up in bed with my new book. Loads of love, hope you all had a great weekend.

Spring, spring, spring

Hello fashionistas!
I'm back, this past week was crayzay buzay (too much?)..
I wanted to share an outfit of the day that I actually wore today.
I was in the mood for spring colors mixed with some feminine touches.

Top: JCP Tank-top: Kohl's Pants: JCP Cardigan: New York and Company Bracelet: Forever 21 Earrings: Charolette Russe Shoes: DSW

I woke up and I was in the mood for spring colors. A bright kelly green cardigan made me feel fresh. I paired it with my favorite navy crop pants to have a darker edgier to the outfit. I wore this cream, lace blouse with a tie to add a feminine twist to the whole look. I put on pearl (obviously fake) earrings to add a classic touch. I wanted to tie in the spring aspect by pairing it with flower bracelet that gave contrast to the outfit because it is metallic.

I kept my hair super simple, aka I didn't do anything but throw it back. Well, I guess I braided my bangs, A for effort... I did a light brown eye with a bold lip. I mixed a coral (Kate Moss for Rimmel London #12) with a vibrant pink Wet n' Wild lip color (I think it was 967) to achieve a hot pink/coral-y lip. Also, in case any of you noticed my nails the color is Color Club Blue Mint. I just had my nails done yesterday with my momma.

I'm super sorry for not posting a lot..
This is a text that my best friend sent me today. She keeps it real.

This picture was sent to my friend right before I left for yoga class.
*This is small because the reality of it blown up #notpretty*
On another note I have like 5 of these Marika tank-tops. So much Marika love.
I've been spending a ton of time at the gym these past two months. That is part of the reason that my presence in the blogosphere has been diminished. The other reason is that school is in that last 9 week cram for exams and tons of projects.

I miss you guys!

Hope you're all doing well.
Loads of love!

Fraas Mystical Scarf Review and Outfit of the Day

Hello fashionistas!
Spring is here and with it comes warmer temps, lighter colors, and open toed shoes!
I have a wonderful scarf from Fraas to share with you all. It is called the Mystical Water scarf.
Yes, I was sent this to consider for review, but that would never alter my opinion.

Excuse the fact that these pictures were taken in my pottery room. This is where we take pictures of our pieces. The white specks all over the background is clay dust, the usual.

Shirt: Gap Blazer: Thrifted Pants: JCP Shoes: Kohl's Scarf: Fraas Bracelets: Gap and Forever 21

I wanted to show you guys how the scarf could make a simple tee shirt really pop and that you could pair it with a dressier blazer. This scarf is extremely versatile; I have about ten outfits that could be worn with it in mind! The colors are so beautiful and bright. I love the way the blues swirl together with the lavender. If blues and purples aren't your thing, the scarf comes in a coral shade. Also, this scarf is incredibly soft, I just want to snuggle with it.. Is that weird? When I wore this to school I received a ton of compliments. I would highly recommend this to anyone in the market for a spring scarf.

I played with the cool shades in this scarf by pairing a blue toned pink lipstick with it, MAC Speed Dial.

The Mystical Waters scarf is a beautiful, "over-sized printed scarf that measures 40x72 inches which means that it can be worn as a wrap or a scarf. It retails for $48 and is available in beautiful vibrant turquoise and coral."

Spring Trends

Hello fashionistas!
I was in yoga tonight trying to come up with an idea for a blog post (because what else would I be doing while in the midst of a weird pose) and I decided that I would talk about some of my favorite trends for spring.

Untitled #7

Black and white is a huge trend for spring. It is all about playing with contrast, light versus dark. You can do it in a feminine way with lace or you can keep it bold and basic.

Bold stripes are another big trend. They are easy to wear because you can mix them with other patterns (scarves, pants, jackets) or you can keep them plain. The best part is that you can find tons of different colored striped shirts. I really like the boat neck top above because of the contrast that the bright yellow brings to the stripes.

Pantone's color of the year, Emerald, is still going strong. Emerald is a color that looks good on a vast variety of skintones. You can go for a daring look with an all emerald dress or you can accessorize with emerald, the choice is yours.

Pattern pants and skirts are also another trend this year. I actually love the polka dots pants (very similar to a pair that I picked up from Old Navy) because they are a small enough that they do not overwhelm an outfit. The patterned skirt is light, feminine, and is a great pop of color.

Structured blazers are in again- as if they ever went out. I loved this white blazer, so I thought I had to add it to my trends list. Another trend this season are floral blazers.

Don't cringe with fear over this next trend.. Blue eyeshadow is back! I'm not bold enough to wear an entire look of blue eyeshadow, but I am more than willing to line my lashes with a blue tone. If you are more daring then feel free to go full steam ahead with this trend.

The last trend I'm going to talk about is the matte lip trend. I love red lips because they are a timeless makeup trend, so obviously I'm on board for more people wearing it! Just make sure you put on a lipbalm before applying the lipstick or else you will end up with dry lips.

If you guys do not like a trend remember to always stay true to you. That's my number one fashion rule.
Any trends that I didn't mention that you guys are head over heels for? Let me know!

Loads of love!
