Hello fashionistas!
I like to think of myself as somewhat crafty, so I decided to do a little weekend do it yourself project.
I love unique things, but I really really really love unique glitter things, so I decided to combine the two! Here is my how to guide to a glittery switch plate!
Gather your supplies. I used a teal and silver glitter from Michaels, Mod Podge, a painter's tray, a foam brush, and my switch plate cover. I placed a folder underneath my glitter mess to contain the chaos!
At first I mixed my two glitters with the Mod Podge in the painters' tray and brushed it on with my foam brush. I then waited 20 minutes before doing my next coat. When I did the next coat I decided to do just the glue and then sprinkle the glitter on and brush it evenly all over. I repeated this for 3 more times. Make sure to wait at least 20 minutes in between each coats of glitter and glue!
I forgot to include a picture of the clear lacquer finishing spray I put on the switch plate when all my glitter was dry to avoid any flaking.
Ta-da! Glittery, girly, and very easy to do!
You can use any colored glitter that you want for this and I am sure it will turn out fabulously.
Today I spent my morning doing zumba and yoga with a friend. Then my friend and I went out for tasty post workout smoothies. I came home and soaked up some sun.
I plan on trying a few more DIYs over the summer, do you guys have any DIYs that I absolutely have to do?
