Island Print

Hello fashionistas!

First off I wanted to tell you guys that I finally am done updating the layout of the ole blog. I liked how it looked, but my header was filled with pictures circa LAST YEAR. I figured out how to do it on my own and made it happen! All the images in the header are things that have been on this blog. I added some new links on the side of my blog for Pinterest, Facebook, and Twitter. Check those out if you guys are not already following me!

Anyways, onto the real post. Here is what I wore on my last day of vacation/traveling back home. All photos were taken on our balcony. Ughhh I want to go back. Vacation pictures post will probably be up sometime this weekend! 

Top: Loft Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt (I got them at costco the last time I was there because who can pass up $15 dollar pants?) Shoes: Aerosoles Rings: Larimar ring (blue stone) is from a local store on the island and the other is from Forever 21 

I wanted to wear something comfortable to travel back home in because we had to take a ferry back to St. Thomas, then go on a taxi ride from hell, then a plane ride. Oh, and a five hour drive back home from the Fort Lauderdale airport. We left the island on the ferry at noon and did not get home until 1 AM. Longgggg day. This top really struck me as a good buy for this vacation because of the bright colors, interesting print, and light material. I paired it with dark wash jeans and my  black flats with tan braiding. Comfortable and cute! When I was cold on the plane I added a bright green cardigan to keep warm. 

Rings up close. I had a gel mani, sorry I don't know the name of the polish. Pretty sure the brand was CND. 

I made my mom braid my top layer back and then she twisted it up in a clip. 

I threw on a bit of powder, blush, and a touch of bronzer for face makeup. All I had on my eyes was mascara. Rockin' that simple makeup. 

And just for laughs here is my morning text convo with the bestie, Lily. 

Obviously important. 

I'm off to go get a workout in! Today/tonight I'm volunteering at an art gallery. 

Sunday my mom, Lily, and I are leaving to go to a Matchbox 20 and Goo Goo Dolls concert. Very excited!

UH 911 EMERGENCY GOOGLE FRIEND CONNECT IS SOON TO BE NO MORE

Hello fashionistas!

I woke up nice and early this morning, got a cup (bowl..) of coffee, and I plopped down on my couch to read through my blog feed. While catching up on Michaela's blog (go follow her, she is great) I was sent into quite a tizzy. She informed me (and everyone else who reads her blog) that Google Friend Connect is going to be no more as of July 1st. 

Cue me freaking the freak out.. 

As soon as I read that I googled "Google Friend Connect shutting down" and prayed to the speedy Google Gods that it was not true. Alas it was true.

Then I texted my dad.

Based on the fact that Dad did not respond after that shows me that he was all long hair don't care on the subject. Or still driving to work, whatever. 

Moral of this post is that I really do not want to lose all of my lovely readers that I have acquired over the years because you guys are what makes this blog a place that is more than just me babbling about beauty and fashion, so PLEASE hit the follow button for me over on Bloglovin'. All you have to do is click here and you will make me oh so very happy. 

If this is the first your little blogging heart is hearing about GFC being no more then I am sorry to be the bearer of bad news. Google Friend Connect will be gone as of July 1st, so spread the word to all of the bloggers.

Easy Breezy

Hellllllooooo fashionistas!

I would like to say a big thank you to Madeleine for taking these outfit pictures yesterday! I had to go into school early for a biology test review, so I couldn't have the momma do it! These were taken in my biology classroom,before school, obviously!

The weather here is HOT, so I opted for a black skort and I mixed it with a white, flow-y top. I really love this top, I took it from my mom's closet 2 months ago... She's not getting it back! I paired this with wedges to elongate my stumpy legs. Hair and makeup are the usual, a simple bronze smoky eye and my basically natural hair. I just ran a straightener over the ends of my layers so it all laid uniformly. 

I got my biology test back today, I was very pleased with myself, I got a 90% ! 

I only studied for 1 and a 1/2 hours (well not counting doing the study guide). Ethan and I quizzed each other, he studied less than I did and he still managed to get a 94% ! Jealous. Exam week is coming closer and closer! I'm just very happy I don't have a biology exam. Next week will be stressful, but then summer break is here! I'm pretty darn excited!

Super Subscriber Saturday!

Hey dolls!

A couple of weeks ago I was contacted by Jessica from Beauty, Brains, and Bare Study and she asked if I could do a 'featured follower' type of post on my blog for her. She's newer to the blogging community and she just wants people to know her blog is out there.

I've been following her blog for awhile now and I really enjoy reading her posts!

I asked her a few questions, so here they are!

What go you started into blogging?

One of my friends got me started into blogging. Her and I were always talking about fashion, and make up!

What helped you choose your blog name?

Well, I was struggling because every good name is taken, so I thought really hard. I'm really intelligent, and last Christmas my mom got me "bare study" paint pot from MAC and I used it as a base every day. So then I thought of Beauty, Brains, & Bare Study!

What's your favorite thing about blogging?

I love how everyone is so supportive, and how you can share your style with the world!

If you could give one helpful fashion or beauty tip, what would it be?

One tip I would give other new comer onto make up is that just because you hear everyone using MAC, Urban Decay, Sephora, Nars,and other expensive makeup brands, doesn't mean that drugstore products are bad. I used to think that when I was new to makeup, and I have come to see that there are amzing drugstore products out there.

(I really like this answer! You don't need expensive makeup to do makeup!)

She always look so put together, her outfits are cute and they look super comfortable!

Jessica has the cutest outfits! I'm in LOVE with this cardigan!

I love when she does makeup posts! Her looks are so beautiful and never too much.
