Pattern Play

Hello fashionistas!

This morning I woke up with the sun shining in my room while I primped and prepped for the day and I was suddenly taken over with the feeling of wanting to take outfit photos. I have not taken any outfit of the photos in months and all the sudden the urge to pose and smile came over me. The warm weather has begun in Florida and I'm already avoiding pant wearing.. The long hot months are not even here yet. It's going to be a hot one.

Dress: Kohl's Shoes: Payless Bracelet: NY&Co. Earrings: Belk
I am loving easy dresses to toss on and this one really caught my eye because of all of the patterns that were seamlessly going on. Normally patterned dresses like this overwhelm me, but the colors kept it from being too busy. I paired it with simple black wedges to lengthen my petite figure and keep the look from having to much color.

I like the back of the dress because the pattern stays as one and isn't sectioned off. Simple dresses like this will be my summer go to.

I went with second day curls to add volume to my hair. I slicked on an Estee Lauder lipstick in Rich Berry with a Bite peach lipgloss. Mascara, bronzer, and lipsticks are my summer essentials. Easy and bold.

Exams are starting up this month and last until early June. This is my last week as a senior in high school and I'm feeling very happy to have it all be almost over!

I hope you guys are doing well! I plan on doing a prom post soon!

Loads of love!

Racing in Neutral

Hello fashionistas!
Last Friday I went down to Daytona for one of races held before the Daytona 24 Hours with my dad. I managed to finagle him to snap an outfit picture for me. Do you like the pun of race cars driving in neutral and my outfit being neutral colors? #Badpun

Sweater: JCP Jacket: Forever 21 Scarf: Cotton On Boots: DSW Earrings: Target Aviators: Marshalls

The weather was chilly and windy down in Daytona, so I piled on as many layers as I could. I kept in the neutral theme with my grey sweater, tan bomber jacket, black boots, and earthy green scarf. I used to be such a fan of silver jewelry, but I'm slowly becoming a gold fan.

Also, please note the man casually judging my outfit picture taking. Sir, swerve.

A ponytail was the practical way to go with the extreme wind. Very simple!

This was the only picture I snapped from the event. We all know that races aren't really my scene! ( ;

Hope all is well! I'm feeling under the weather. Fingers crossed that it leaves soon.

Loads of love!

Cold Weather Uniform

Hello fashionistas!
Long time no see.. January has been an oddly busy month and taking outfit pictures has slipped my mind most mornings. The weather has been chilly down in good old Florida and I have been trying to stay warm most days. Sweaters, scarves, and boots have become staples for my cold weather uniform. I probably should have added another layer to this, but it didn't seem necessary to be sitting in classrooms all day long.

*sorry for the poor photo quality

Sweater: Loft Jeans: Loft Scarf: Banana Republic Boots: Aerosoles Earrings: Forever 21 Bracelet: Dillard's

I'm loving wearing basics and adding a pop of interest with my accessories. Just a little arm candy and sparkling earrings add a dash of shimmer to my life. I absolutely love this scarf because it has a pattern of black stilettos all over it. Dressing in dark colors are slimming and this is a trick I have been using to help myself not look chunky with a bunch of layers on.

I simply straightened my hair and spritzed it with some hairspray. I used Urban Decay Darkhorse on my upper lashline and Urban Decay Wreckage on my lower lashline with the Urban Decay 24/7 liner in Whiskey smudged in the outer corner. I topped my lashes with a few coats of mascara and out the door I went!

Yesterday I ran a few miles after school and then headed over to the beach to watch the sunset with my best friend. A good way to end the day!

Thank the Lord that it's the weekend! Loads of love!

Monochromatic

Hello fashionistas!
I'm back with an outfit of the day to share with you all.

Dress: Old Navy Tights: Loft Boots: DSW Earrings: Old Navy Bracelet: Victoria's Secret Bag: Michael Kors

The beginning of the second semester started this week and with it came a huge drop in temperature! I tried to stay warm, but cute with a shirt dress and tights. Sometimes I really love a good monochromatic look with a pop of color in my accessories. I chose gold to be my pop of metallic color for my all black outfit.

My Michael Kors bag was my big birthday present. I had been coveting the Hamilton bag for eons and was beyond excited when my parents bought it for me.

Here is a close up shot of the earrings I wore. These were not like anything I owned, so when I saw them I knew I had to buy them. The turquoise gems make the earrings pop. I love my creepy crawly dangling bug earrings!

I blew out my hair with a round brush and some hair spray for volume. I did a light golden taupe eyeshadow look. I used a pale pink with a tint of red lip butter for a pink lip.

I have been absolutely drained this past week. I went to a basketball game that was two hours away with my boyfriend last night and didn't get home until almost midnight and then had to get up for school the next morning. Needless to say I was beyond tired. I came home and took a two hour nap! I never ever nap, but I really needed it. I'm off to go get all of my schoolwork done, shower, and go back to bed.

Cobalt Statement

Hello fashionistas!
Last week I ended up shooting some of my senior photos and wanted to share one of the outfits I wore with you all. I wanted to keep this outfit classy, but not too dressed up.

Top: Marshalls Jeans: Target Shoes: Kohl's Necklace: J. Crew Bracelets: Forever 21

Cobalt is one of my favorite colors to wear. Not going to lie, whenever I have to take photos I try wear blue because I know it will photograph nicely. I paired this top with a big statement necklace that my girl, Alonna, bought me for my birthday. Thanks girly! I love this necklace because of the orange and scarlet tones in it are very different from any other statement necklace I own. I paired black heels with my dark skinny jeans to make my legs look longer than they actually are. You guys know I'm always trying to pretend that I'm taller than 5'2''. Oh the short struggle!

I kept my makeup light with a warm bronzes and golds on my lids. Obviously Naked 1, Naked Basics, and Stila's kitten were used. I used a clear gloss on my lips. Hair was straightened, brushed a thousand times, and sprayed with hairspray.

I hope you all had a wonderful New Years Eve and have a great New Year! I spent yesterday shopping with my mom during the afternoon and hanging with the boy last night. A good way to ring in the new year. Cannot wait to share what I purchased yesterday with you all.

Loads of love!

Blacked Out

Hello fashionistas!
Long time no post.. I have been crazy busy and have not had anytime to sit down much less formulate a decent blog post. I made sure to wear something yesterday that I would want to post for an outfit of the day!

Sweater: Loft Skirt: Loft Shoes: Target Earrings: Kohl's Bracelets: Forever 21

I'm sure you all think I am crazy for wearing a skirt sans tights in December, but it was only 63 degrees in sunny Florida. I tucked a black sweater into this sweater skirt. I was drawn to this skirt because of the geometric pattern and the fact that it was done subtly with darker colors. Normally I shy away from bold prints on the bottom, but as soon as I tried this on I had to have it! I paired bejeweled emerald flats with this for a pop of color. I added dark stone encrusted dangling earrings for a little shimmer.

My aunt bought me Naked 3 for my birthday and today was the first day I was able to use it. I love the rosey hues in the palette. If you don't already have it then I highly suggest you look into procuring one for yourself! I paired the eye makeup with Pink Velvet lipstick by Revlon. I ran a straightener over my hair and spritzed it with hairspray.

Today is the day that I am having a little party to celebrate the big 1-8! I will do a birthday and birthday party recap post soon. I'm off to go hit the gym, I have not been since Wednesday.. Time to get my run on!

I hope you all are doing well!

A Peppy Step

Hello fashionistas!
I have a little outfit of the day to share with you all!
I'm a peplum newbie because I have never found one that I loved enough to buy. They would always hit my torso at weird lengths or the fabric isn't structured enough for the peplum to be prominent. I finally found a peplum top that I love!

Top: Loft Sweater: Loft Jeans: Target Earrings: New York and Co. Necklace: Kohl's Boots: DSW

I paired the peplum with my favorite asymmetrical black zip up sweater to make sure I was warm. I added black boots to keep the ensemble feeling very winter-esque. I say winter-esque because the coolest it has been in Florida is about 40 degrees. Today's high is upper 70's.. Don't hate me if you guys are living with snow on the ground! I paired a statement knotted necklace to add a little focus to the outfit.

I did a makeup look that was a "no makeup look" and it consisted of a bit of face makeup, mascara, and Urban Decay Buck on my upper and lower lashlines. A warm brown always brings out my eyes and makes them look bluer than they are. I used a red lipgloss from ELF on my lips.

I'm off to go get ready for school! Today is going to be a busy day and full of work when I get home from school. I'm going to squeeze a run in between homework and everything else that is going on. Thank God tomorrow is Friday!

Loads of love!

Sweater Weather

Hello fashionistas!
I'm so sorry for the absence of new posts. This break has been BUSY. On Wednesday I went to the gym for a few hours, got a pedicure and a manicure, and went shopping. Thursday was Thanksgiving and I spent most of the day with my family and that night I spent a few hours with some of my friends. Yesterday I managed to hit the gym that morning and then run home to shower and change to grab lunch with a friend who was in town. After that I went out with the best friend and did a little Black Friday shopping. I didn't buy much, just two skirts and a pair of tights. Last night I went to a last minute basketball game. This morning I'm going to a football game and I am hurriedly typing out a post to fill out my little corner of the web.

Sweater: Kohl's Jeans: Loft Necklace: Loft Outlet Boots: DSW Earrings: Forever 21

I had not been shopping at Kohl's in a long time, but when I saw this sweater there I knew I had to have it. The material is so soft and the little dot texture on it makes it a unique sweater. I know this will get a lot of wear this winter. The Florida weather has been so bipolar lately; one minute it's 60 degrees and the next morning it is 85! I added a chunky silver necklace to add some shine to my ensemble. I kept my legs warm with some black boots.

I had my mom help me hot roller my hair because I was not in the mood for my hair to be straight like it normally is. I did a brown smokey eye and added Milani Berry Rich lipstick on my lips for a pop of rich color.

I hope you all have been having a great week and enjoy your weekend! Tomorrow I am volunteering in the morning and then will be working away on school assignments and projects that I have put off. Have no fear, it will all get accomplished tomorrow.

Loads of love!

FRAAS Holiday Metallic Scarf Review

Hello fashionistas!
The wonderful FRAAS scarf company recently sent me a lovely metallic scarf for the fall.

I absolutely love this scarf. I'm not normally a fan of zebra print, but the fabric and colors used heighten the pattern to be so much more than just a zebra print. The golds and bronzes are very rich and luxurious colors.

This scarf is HUGE. Not only could it be used to keep your neck warm, but you could also wrap it around yourself for a shawl. This would be a cute shawl with a little black dress.

360528 is the Metallic Zebra style. Its pretty use of metallic yarns (mixed with acrylic and viscose) combines with the always popular animal print, to create a 12x80 inch accessory that works beautifully as both a wrap and scarf.  Three color ways are featured including a black combo, as well as gold and silver.  Great for dress up, special occasions' or just for fun, it retails for $35.

Here are the other colors available. I highly suggest you pick one of these babies up! They are bound to get you endless questions on where you got that scarf.
FRAAS products are sold worldwide via department and specialty stores as well as online retailers. They may also order from the company by calling 212-575-0191. Select styles are available on fraas.com and amazon.com

Hope you all are having a great week! I'm so glad Thanksgiving break starts tomorrow. I'm very ready for a break!

Sparkles

Hello fashionistas!
This past week has been busy and I have not found time to whip up a post. Yikes!
I also have two products that I need to review this weekend for you all! Really excited to share both products with you. Anyways, for now I have an outfit that I wore today to share with you all.

Cardigan: American Eagle purchased at Marshalls Jeans: Old Navy Tank-top: Old Navy Boots: DSW Bracelet: Belk Necklace: Tiffany & Co.

After a shopping adventure with my mom last weekend I found this sparkling gem of a cardigan on major sale at Marshalls. I was lacking anything with serious sparkle and knew I had to buy this. The weather was drizzly all day, so I decided to keep my feet dry with my black boots. I paired a simple white bow bracelet and my silver Tiffany charm necklace to keep the sequined cardigan from being too overwhelming.

I coated my lashes with Falsies mascara and used Urban Decay Faint eyeshadow on my upper lashline. I used Kat Von D lipstick in Agatha with Korres lip butter in Wild Berry for a pink that complimented my cardigan. I popped some hot rollers in my hair for ten minutes and then flipped it upside to get volume after I took the rollers out. Cue my spraying half the bottle of hairspray on and walking out the door.

Tonight I went to my favorite workout class, spin! At first I abhorred spin, but now it is my favorite class. It is always a challenge and I know I'm torching calories. I'm off to go shower and watch American Horror Story! Do you guys watch it? It's so crazy!

Loads of love!

Gingham Prep

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to share an outfit that I wore last week. I wore this to a girls empowerment conference where we got to meet women in different fields and then we were paired up with a mentor. It was a really great experience!

Button-up: Old Navy Cardigan: Old Navy Jeans: Loft Shoes: Rock & Republic for Kohl's Belt: Kohl's Earrings: New York and Co. Necklace: Tiffany & Co. Bracelet: Forever 21

I picked up this shirt a few weeks ago and it has quickly become my favorite button up. I love the blue gingham and I wanted to pair it with bold pops of red. I kept the look balanced with a neutral colored cardigan. The accessories were muted with classic silver pieces.

I applied a few different shadows from Urban Decay's Naked palette and used Naked 2 from Urban Decay's Naked Basics palette in my crease. I wore Korre's Lip Butter Glaze in Wild Rose for a red pop. This is currently my favorite lip color.

I think I'm going to try tucking more button ups in and wearing cardigans over it because I love a good preppy look!

Hope you all are well!

Homecoming 2013

Hello fashionistas!
Last weekend was my homecoming dance. I attended homecoming my sophomore year and decided that I wanted to do it for my senior year. I'm not big on the dance aspect of homecoming, I'm much more into getting ready, taking pictures, and going out for a fancy dinner!

This is the lovely group of girls that I went with. The girl to the right of me and the girl on the opposite end are both foreign exchange students and had never been to a dance before!

We decided to break up and do a few trio shots. I did Lily and Jenna's makeup. Getting ready and doing everyone's makeup is my favorite part!

Jenna and I casually posing on the stairs. My dress is from JCP and Jenna's is from JCP, but she purchased it over the summer.

Lily and I both rocking LBDs. Her dress is from Forever 21.

I thought that Lily looked GORGEOUS. The draping on the top of the dress was very flattering.

Sorry for the grainy picture quality. We didn't get many good photos because the sun set very quickly.

I went with a gold and bronzed eye and red lips. My mom put my hair in rollers and ran her fingers through it for a tousled look.

I'm glad we went, but the dance itself was very lame. Or maybe I'm just getting older, but I recall not enjoying the dance back when I was a sophomore.

Have you guys gone to any events that gave you a reason to get all dolled up? Am I the only one who loves dressing up? I know I cannot be alone!

Loads of love!

Lilac and Blue

Hello fashionistas!
Sorry for disappearing for a few days, this past week was packed with craziness.
I want to share an outfit that I wore last week.

Blouse: JCP Tanktop: Forever 21 Jeans: Loft Shoes: JCP Necklace: Loft Ring: Kohl's Earrings: New York and Co.

I picked up this breezy, printed top a few weeks ago because I love the color combo. The navy and lilac look really sharp together and I wanted to add more blue to the outfit by pairing it with bright cobalt heels. I added the silver, chunky necklace for a metallic pop.

My makeup was light champagne and warm browns on the eyes. I used a clear gloss on my lips.
I curled my hair with a 1'' barrel and then I ran my fingers through my hair to loosen the curls.

On Saturday I woke up bright and early to take the SAT exam. After that I ran to the gym for a bit and then came home to primp for homecoming with my girls, Lily and Jenna. I will do a homecoming post when I get pictures sent from Jenna because my camera did not focus and the pictures are not very good.
Yesterday was an adventure that left my mom and I taking our dog to the emergency vet for surgery because the doofus ate a popsicle stick. The removed it last night and all is well with the dog. The amazing part was that the popsicle stick had no bite marks on it. Crazy dog.

Hope you all are well!

Loads of love!

Sweatshirt Bling

Hello fashionistas!
Today has been a blissful day off from school. I spent my day off with my best friend, doing a bit of studying, and working out. I want to share an outfit that I wore in the beginning of the week.

Top: Loft Jeans: Loft Shoes: Target Bracelet: Forever 21 Earrings: gift

These are the jeans that I purchased last weekend when Loft was having a killer sale. Being a mere 5'2'' I have to buy petite jeans and the Loft always seems to have what I need. Some of the best jeans I have ever bought! I paired these jeans with a short sleeve sweatshirt material that has a blinged out neckline. I really like meshing the ease of the shirt with the some sparkle! I added leopard heels for a pop of pattern. I tied in more bling with a flower, metal cuff bracelet.

I used a few Urban Decay shadows for a gold/brown eye with a pop of eggplant on the upper and lower lash lines. I used Rimmel London's Airy Fairy lipstick with a dark plum colored gloss on top.
I ran a straightener over my hair because it was slightly wet when I went to bed and it had a few bumps and lumps.

Tonight I am going out to dinner with the best friend and our mommas. We are then going to a corn maze! Cannot wait to wander around aimlessly and eat tasty fall snacks.

I hope you all have fabulous weekend plans!

Loads of love!
