4 Year Blog Birthday!

Hello fashionistas!
Today marks the fourth year that little old Glamorous Girl 2014 has been around.

I began this blog in the summer before my freshman year of high school and now I'm sitting here as a high school graduate still posting away, albeit less frequently, on this site. I never knew if people would read what I had to say, much less interact with me when I began posting, but I am so glad that I stuck with blogging. I've met so many great readers and fellow bloggers. The kind words have often been enough to get me through a difficult day and put a smile on my face.

I'm grateful to have documented the past four years of my life. I love knowing that I can look back and see all the ways that my life has changed from new friends, new styles, and a new body. This site has really helped me document my weight loss and life changes. I'm happy to share all of the happenings in my little corner of the web. And I'm even happier that people actually read it!

Thanks for being the best followers a girl could ask for, you all make my day!

Here's to many more years, even after 2014 passes!

Loads of love!

3 Year Blog-aversary!

Hello fashionistas!
I cannot believe that I am sitting here saying that today marks the third year blog anniversary.

\
Adorable fashion cupcakes via.

Where did the time go?! My best friend, who has been following this blog since day one, and I often like to reminiscence on my very first outfit of the day post (also my first post ever). Looking back I did not really know what I was doing- which is why we always get a good laugh over those first posts. Sometimes I think about purging my old posts, but it is all a part of the journey of getting older.

The real point of this post is to say THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU for reading my fashion/beauty/a little bit of everything blog. I know my posting was tres sporadic for a few months, but I promise not to do that again! I feel so lucky to have 'met' (web pals) so many great bloggers who enjoy the same things I do. If it was not for my sweet readers I do not know if I would have continued posting.

Thanks for taking the time out of your life to read my fashion, beauty, and life blog. You guys are amazing!

If you have not already gotten your fill of me then feel free to check out my Pinterest and or Twitter.

My friend and I went to the local farmer's market and then we went to a yoga class. Currently cleaning up my room and doing a DIY necklace project (one that I found on Pinterest).
I hope you all are having a great weekend!

2 Year Blog Anniversary!

Hello fashionistas!
Today marks my two year blogging anniversary and I feel like the time has just flown by
I started this blog back in the summer before freshmen year and now it's the summer before junior year. I chose the numbers 2014 because that year seemed so far away, it's the year I'll graduate high school, and now I'm realizing that it isn't that far away at all.

So cute, I seriously fell in love with this picture and thought it would be perfect for this post!

I just wanted to say thank you to all of the amazing people and companies I've come into contact with from this blog. You all are so sweet and have touched my life in a very special way and I hope that I've had some sort of an impact on you all. You all are what makes me keep blogging.

I feel like I've grown up with this blog and that my style has definitely become all my own. I honestly feel like I've become more in tune with what I like and dislike because of blogging. It's taught me that sometimes you have to follow your own heart and not listen to everyone else's opinions. Sometimes you aren't going to love the new 'it' trend and that's a-okay. We're all individuals and we aren't all always going to mesh. Putting myself out here to be judged by others hasn't always been easy. I've had my share of rude comments, but it has taught me that everyone has their own opinions and that you can't let the harsh things people say get you down. Haters gonna hate and the fact of the matter is that you have to ignore it.

If anyone reading this has ever considered blogging, but has been too scared to start one, my advice would be that you should go for it. You have to put yourself out there and network.
It took me awhile before I had any readers, but I still loved doing it- of course it was even better when I had actual readers! The very first comment/follower you get will forever be something you remember, no matter how large your blog grows to be. Don't be afraid, just put yourself out there.

If you guys have suggestions of posts you would like to see more of then please put it in the comment section below! You can also tweet me @glamgirl2014 or email me at glamorousgirl2014@gmail.com .

Anyways, thanks so much for watching my blog grow, I love you all!
I hope for many more blog-averseries.

Blog Birthday + Outfit of the Day + Eye of the Day

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you what I (almost) wore to school on Friday.

Top: Kohls Tanktop: Aeropostale Skirt: Coldwater Creek Shoes: Aerosoles Earrings: mom's

I was going to wear this to school on Friday, but it was not very comfortable, so I threw on jeans instead. The jeans were a good call because I did a ton of walking around that day. If I had worn the skirt I probably would have been tugging it around all day.

Here's my eye makeup that I wore. I've been doing this for the past couple of days, quick and easy!

EYES
  • UDPP
  • Urban Decay's Sin all over lid
  • Sleek's original I-Divine palette purple all over sin, lightly patted
  • Stila's Road to Radiance travel palette's "City Chick" in the crease
  • Urban Decay's Virgin as my highlight
  • Maybelline Colossal lash
  • Stila's Lash Visor
I took my final exam today. I'm officially a sophomore! Well, except for the fact that I have to take the final part of my pre- AICE biology exam on Friday, but I'm not worried about it. I went home with the best friend Lily and hung out at her house all afternoon/evening.

Here's a breakdown of my exam grades:
English: 100% (highest out of everyone, very pleased with myself)
Pottery: 100%
Geometry: 80% (I'm happy with that, seen as I thought I was going to not do well at all on it.)
French: 80% (I'm also happy with this because the final exam was SO hard.)

I don't know what I got on my geography exam yet, but overall I'm pretty pleased with my grades.

I just wanted to tell you guys that today is my first blog birthday! I'm so happy to have gotten to 'know' so many of you, you're the kindest people. I have had so many wonderful opportunities brought into my life from blogging. Plus, I get to interact with you all on a daily basis! I remember when I got my very first follower, I had been 3 weeks into blogging, I was out at dinner, waiting for our table. I pathetically checked my Blogger account to see if I had any 'hits' on my blog, when I saw that I had a follower I was SO excited! By the next day I had ten followers! Blogging started as a hobby to do over the summer, now I don't know what I would do without it! I love blogging so much, and I love you all so much. Thank you for being such amazing followers, every new follower I get the happier I am. All of your comments bring smiles to my face and really just warm my heart. If you ever have any questions or requests, drop me a line or comment on a post. I love you guys!
