Senior Prom Glitz and Glam

Hello fashionistas!
I'm a little behind on posting this, but I wanted to share my prom pictures with you all.

I was unsure as to whether or not I would be attending prom, but much convincing from my friends led me to attend. I waited until three weeks before to decide whether or not I was going, so I knew that I couldn't go to Dillard's for a dress because I would end up in the same thing as ten other girls. I went to a vintage shop downtown Saint Augustine and fell in love with the very first dress I tried on. It is straight out of the seventies and didn't need any alterations. My shoes are Guess from DSW and my clutch is also from DSW. I borrowed my earrings from a friend.

I love my girls! To the left of me is Victoria, you all know Lily, and next to Lily is Asia.

We had a really nice sunset happening while we took pictures!

I'm actually really glad that I went with all of my friends. They make me laugh and make me so happy. Plus, getting all glammed up is always fun!

Loads of love!

Gettin' Crafty! DIY Galaxy Dress Tutorial

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to share another crafty DIY that I did over the weekend with you guys.
I decided to make a plain black dress into a unique galaxy dress.
This dress was actually my best friends' dress that she left behind and told me that I could glam it up.
Here is a tutorial on what I did/used to make this dress.

This is the end product, a one of a kind galaxy dress!

Things to have: paint brushes, sponge, paint tray, clothing paint (I had a white, yellow, pink, purple, and gold glitter), blow dryer, bleach in a spray bottle, paper towels, a piece of cardboard, and a black dress.
Make sure to put the cardboard in the dress to not allow the bleach to soak through it.

Start by slowly spritzing the bleach onto the dress to see where you want to apply the bleach. I twisted the dress in different areas to create interesting galaxy-esque spirals. I'm super impatient, so I decided to blow dry the spots where I really soaked the dress with bleach.  Bleach the front as much as you want and let dry for 15-20 minutes. Then flip it over and bleach the back of it.

I mixed a little bit of the paint in the paint tray and dabbed it on with the sponge. I wanted to do it very lightly to make the galaxy more dimensional. You can use brushes to do this, but I found that the sponge worked better. If you get a big glob (sorry for not using a more scientific word..) of paint on the dress then I smeared it with my fingers. Then I wiped my hands off onto my handy dandy paper towels!

Let the dress dry overnight. Then throw the dress into the washer on its own in a cold wash. Dry on low (or hanger dry). Then the dress is ready to wear!

Here is Lily showing off her super unique galaxy dress.

Back of the dress.

Close up on the "galaxy"!

Have you guys made any crafty clothing lately?
I just wanted to give Lily a happy almost birthday shout out- love you girl!

Hope you all are great!

A Fabulous Gift!

Hello fashionistas!
I thought I'd share with you all the present my Nana brought me this week. She also brought me two shirts, which I didn't picture because I wanted this little gem to be the focus.

Nana said that when she saw this that she just thought it would be perfect for me. She was so right!
I love this dress so much. I can't wear it now, but I will definitely be wearing it as soon as possible, I'm thinking Easter.

I love the hot pink color of it, it's just quite a statement. This dress hits me just below the knee. I feel like some silver, peep toe heels would be perfect for this dress. Or possibly silver slingbacks.

There's a subtle texture on the polka dots, just thought I'd focus in on it for you all.

Thank you so much Nana!

Now for a little personal update.
This weekend has been quite busy and it's only Saturday night! Yesterday I went home with my best friend, Lily, we went out to dinner. After dinner we met up with some of our friends and walked around downtown and got a cup of coffee and pastries.
Today I went and got my haircut, pictures to come soon! After that I went and hung out with the other best friend, Melissa, and we walked around downtown again. We got a late lunch (tacos, which were delicious). After getting a little dessert (Melissa got a fancy popsicle and I got gelato) we stumbled upon a wedding! Mel and I are both wedding saps, so we stopped and watched them exchange vows. It was really great! It was the first wedding we had ever both "been" to. Our best friend teacher is getting married in a few months and their initials happen to be C and D; the two people who were getting married also had the same initials.
Congrats to C&D, the unknown wedded couple, may you have a fabulous marriage!

Tomorrow I'm going homecoming dress shopping with Lily. I have mine all squared away, on the other hand, she doesn't. Wish us luck!

Have a fabulous weekend! I have no school on Monday, so my weekend will be extra long and great!

Fashion to Figure Review and Outfit of the Day!

Hello fabulous fashionistas!
Today, I have a review for you all. The lovely people over at Fashion to Figure sent me a dress to review.
I'm obviously not a size zero but, I was a little bit worried that FTF wouldn't have anything that would fit me. I'm curvy but, not exactly plus sized. Turns out FTF has clothing ranging from size 12-26! I happen to be a 10-12 in most things so it worked out!

Dress: FashiontoFigure Blazer: JcPenny Earrings: Forever 21 Shoes: Aerosoles
Up-close of the flower pattern.

Fashion To Figure has very on trend pieces that are extremely affordable! This dress was only $29.99.
I felt that this dress was very well made and not to mention perfect for spring and summer!
The dress was fully lined so, I didn't have to worry about finding a nude colored slip to wear with it. I really love the flower pattern on the dress! I'm very happy I chose this to review because, I
a.) didn't own a strapless dress, b.) didn't own a flowered dress, and c.) I really love finding trendy pieces that I know I will wear a lot!

When I wore this I decided to wear my hair all up because I really wanted people to see the ruffle and button detailing. I also brought the flower theme throughout this look by pairing it with some flower studs from Forever 21.

When I wore this to school I received about 7 compliments on the dress! I felt so confident when I wore this, I can't wait to wear it again!

I highly suggest that my fellow curvy ladies go check out Fashion to Figure if you're in the market for something trendy and very affordable!

Dress Haul

Hey guys as I said in an earlier post I went to Ross and a local store with my mom and I bought some stuff (actually my mom bought me some stuff). You guys must think that all I do is shop, but I promise that isn't true!

Ross- $10
Super soft and comfy. I think I could wear it out and about or over a bathing suit.

Ross- $12
I love this dress so much! When I tried it on, I knew I had to have it! It is a really nice fit and shape on me.

Ross- $11
This picture does not do this dress justice. It is a bubble dress and it is adorable!
My mom grabbed it for me to try on and I didn't think I would like it and I fell in love♥ with it! So I will do an OOTD (outfit of the day) whenever I wear it!

Ross- $13
Super cute, it will be perfect for summer(:

This is the shirt that I bought from the local store, I bought it in a size bigger so it would be more baggy. It is sooooo soft! I don't normally wear green, but I liked the print and how it looked on me. I believe it was $14

Ooops I forgot to put in the khaki bermudas. Oh well, they aren't anything super special!
Thanks for following!

My Day

Colby and I say hello!
I just thought I would do a quick update, here it goes. First of all I have decided (because my mom suggested doing this) that I will change the picture at the front of my blog daily to a different haute couture picture, so if you guys see one that is nice, send me a link(: Also I wanted to thank all of you for following me! So what I did today was go out for lunch with my mommy downtown at a delicious cafe, then we went to a couple of vintage stores (but we didn't buy anything). After that we came back home and took showers because we sweated like mad downtown, it was so HOT! So after getting showers we headed back out and we went to Ross. I picked up a couple of adorable dresses (I'm on this new dress kick) so I will do a post later. We also went to another store (I'm not going to tell you because it is only in our area) where I picked up a pair of bermudas and a t-shirt. Hope you guys had a lovely day!
