A Few New Purchases.

Hello fashionistas!
I have a few new purchases to share with you all.

I recently made an order at Apothica and I bought Nioxin's Volumizing Reflecting Root Lifter and Too Faced's Full Bloom Ultra Flush Powder Blush in the shade "Who's Your Poppy?"

I needed another volumizing product, so I thought I would give this product a try. For $9 I think that it works well and it smells nice and clean.

For some reason this photographed a lot more darker than it actually is!

A gorgeous peachy pink with a subtle golden sheen.

I'm so in love with this blush and I think it may have replaced my longtime love, Nars' Orgasm. It's also a very similar shade to Orgasm, so that could be why I like it. It's vibrant and has gold running through it to create a lovely glow on your face. I will most likely review this separately.

I picked up the oil blotting sheets by E.L.F at Target for only a $1. Every girl needs these in their bag, perfect for on the go touch ups.

While my mom and I were at Costco we decided to check out the clothing section and I found this adorable black pencil skirt by Ellen Tracy. I liked it a lot when I saw it, but I really really liked it when I saw the $13 price tag.

Mom and I also made a stop at DSW and I picked up a pair of black heels for school. I thought that these Kenneth Cole shoes had a low enough heel that they would be super comfortable for walking the halls.

I'm about to go out and get sushi with one of my girls. Have a great night.

5 Minute Eye

Hello fashionistas!
I did a quick and simple eye look and I wanted to share it with you all. I've been wearing this a lot when I want makeup on, but I don't want to look overdone. Plus it takes barely 5 minutes to do!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Stila's Kitten all over lid and in inner corner
Urban Decay's Naked in the crease
Urban Decay's Virgin as a brow highlight
E.L.F Studio Cream Liner in Brown
Covergirl Waterproof Lashblast on upper and bottom lashes

Here's a crappy webcam picture of my entire face! Sorry, my actual camera died before I had a chance to take a full face picture.

Do you guys have a 5 minute eye look? Do you tend to go to neutrals when you're in a time pinch or pops of color?

Today Lily is coming over to help me clean out my closet (plus my shoes, bags, and jewelry)! This is going to be an all day job. Wish us luck!

Have a splendid Saturday!

Done Up - Eye of the Day

Hello beautyistas!
I have a little eye of the day that I did today. Simple bronzey eye makeup, bronze and gold looks are some of my favorites to do!

Products used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Stila Acapulco trio, the outer color all over my lid
Urban Decay Half Baked all over the Stila shade
Urban Decay Smog in the outer corner
ELF Cream Eyeliner in brown on upper lashline
Colossal on my upper lashes (one coat)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt as a base on my lower lashline
Urban Decay Smog all over the Yogurt
Urban Decay Half Baked in the inner corner of my lower lashline, about 1/3 of my lower lashline has that over Smog
Urban Decay Whiskey in the outer corner of my bottom rim of my eye

That's it!
Sorry I didn't take a full face picture, it just slipped my mind.

Today was the sister's birthday and we had a little party, it was fun. Lily got to come over and we hung out for a bit. We went through old yearbooks and laughed so hard! Yearbook photos are just NOT a good representation of how one actually looks. I got to drive for the first time in 2 weeks today, did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself.. And I am!
I have a couple of things that I purchased yesterday (mom purchased for me...), I'm going to take photos and put them up probably Sunday or Monday. I didn't get much, only one clothing item, and it was pajamas!

Eyes, Lips, Face, and Haul

Hello my little fashionistas!
About a week and half ago I placed an order with E.L.F and it arrived in the mail yesterday!
I didn't get very much, but what I did get was what I really wanted.

♥ELF Contouring Blush and Bronzing Powder
♥ELF Studio Cream Liner in Brown
♥ELF free gift Brightening Eye Color quad in Ivy

I'm a huge fan of the contouring powder duo, so I bought a backup! I also love, love, love my studio cream liner in black, so I purchased the brown too!

♥ 11 Piece Brush Collection (Studio)
Eeek, I've been wanting this for quite sometime, so I finally bought it! There was a 60% off sale going on, that's why I broke down and bought it. I already had 3 brushes from the studio line and love them, so this was the perfect edition to my brushes. I won't be buying anymore for quite a long time. I think they may have given me an extra powder brush instead of a blush brush. It wouldn't matter to me if I hadn't just lost my blush brush from the studio line that I purchased a couple of months ago... Must track that down!

I had ordered E.L.F's studio line blush in 'giddy gold', but when my order arrived it said that it was out of stock so they refunded me my money. I'm a little sad about that, it looked like such a unique color. There were tons of other things I wanted, but I only bought a few. There's always a sale going on over at E.L.F so I'll just buy my other lemmings next time!

Today I went to the eye doctor because my right eye has been irritated for a few days, the doctor didn't find anything. She said to try a cold compress and take allergy medicine because it may just be from going out of town and coming back. I'm a little worried that it could be more, but I'll do as she says, and if it doesn't get better I'll be off to the doctor again.
This afternoon mom and I are going birthday present shopping for my sister, Sierra. She's turning 13 tomorrow! We're going to Forever 21, so I'm excited, love that store!

If you want to see swatches of anything I bought, let me know!

Have you guys hauled anything lately? Or partake in E.L.F's 60% off sale?

Lots of love!

Blue and Stars + Eye of the Day

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you want I wore in honor of 4th of July.
We did a little BBQ action, but I skipped on fireworks because they are not my favorite thing.
I'm probably one of the few people who aren't fond of them!
Shirt: Liz Clairborne  Star top: Belk Shorts: Dockers (bought at Bealls) Watch: Avenues Shoes: Aerosoles Sunglasses:

I finally realized that I need to set my camera on macro mode to pick up makeup well, I used macro on all of these. The only thing I do not like about macro is that it makes me look so pale!
Anyways, here's my patriotic eye makeup!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
NYX Yogurt pencil as a base on my lower lash line
Stila's Stone eyeshadow all over and in the middle of my lower lash line
Stila's Smog in the crease
Sleek original I-Divine palette dark, shimmery blue in the crease, and all over the bottom lash line
Urban Decay's Virgin in the inner corner, bottom inner corner, and highlight
ELF Studio Cream liner on my upper lash line
Urban Decay's Creep over the ELF Studio Cream liner
Rimmel London 1-2-3 mascara on upper lashes
Covergirl waterproof LashBlast mascara on lower lashes

This showed up a little bit more silver than blue, don't worry it was definitely blue!

How'd you guys spend your 4th of July?

Makeup Lemmings

Hello fashionistas,

As usual I'm lemming after a few things... Well more than a few things. I have no money right now, I have been hauling like no tomorrow! Mommy and Daddy spoil me. Thank you guys, you both treat me like a princess. I love you both (I'm not sure if/when you'll read this).
I  really cannot be buying anything for quite a bit, but it's nice to have things that you want (plus when you finally get around to buying them it will be even sweeter).

I'm going to tell you my ever growing list of makeup desires. These are in no particular order.

     MAC
  • Woodwinked
  • Mulch
  • All That Glitters
  • Evolution Revolution lipglass (from the MAC Bloggers' Obsessions collection)
  • Angel lipstick
ESSENCE
  • I want to peruse the XXL lipglosses, then make my decision on the shades! I've seen swatches and they all look so pretty
  • I really like Essence's nail polishes (cheap and decent quality). Again, I like to peruse while I'm there!
E.L.F.

  • I am obsessed with ELF's studio line blushers.
  • After seeing swatches from the lovely Steph's blog (check it out here) I want to try out their studio lines cream shadows.

I won't be buying any of this for quite sometime. Especially the MAC products, I like to buy from there, but it's just so darn expensive! I'll buy the lipglass soon... It is a limited edition after all! All of their LE collections are how they really get you to purchase, it's the fear that the latest 'it' product won't be around long.

What are you all lemming after? Makeup, clothes, cars?

May Favorites!

Hello fashionistas!
Sorry my May favorites is so late.... Better late than never!

 ♥Jergens Natural Glow in light
♥Urban Decay Naked palette
♥ELF professional "C" eyeshadow brush
♥Stila 30 brush
♥Benefit Boi-ing and Eyebright concealer duo
♥MAC Melon pigment
♥Bath and Body Works' Eau Du Toilette in Sweet Pea
♥Maybelline Colossal mascara
♥Carmex chapstick in Strawberry
♥Presitge bronzer (no specific name)

Left to right:
Prestige bronzer, UD Naked, UD Half Baked, MAC Melon, Benefit conceal/eyebright *unblended*

♥I bought the Jergens lotion towards the end of April and I used it almost all of May (until I started hitting the pool regularly). I had a lot of comments on my 'tan'.... Little did they know it was a fake, hehe! This was a great buy, it really did gradually build. It looked very real.
♥I know you all are probably sick and tired of seeing the Naked palette in everyone's favorites, but I just can't help my love for this palette! I got really into using Naked and Half Baked this month. I have a look to go up using Naked and Buck, I'll probably put it up tomorrow or Tuesday.
♥ELF's "C" brush is great to pat shadow on the lid. At $3 this brush is a great buy.
♥Stila's #30 brush is double ended. I can dust shadow across my lid and then use the tapered end to add depth in the crease. I use the tapered end almost everyday.
♥I picked up the Benefit duo a month and half ago. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it, but now I love it! I find the concealer to be very creamy, but the eyebright is a little bit difficult to blend. You can buy this duo at Ulta, by the checkout.
♥MAC's Melon pigment was a GREAT buy! I would like to thank my best friend Mel for convincing me that I would use it and it was worth the money! I wore it for 2 weeks straight in the beginning of May, and I never do that!
♥Sweet Pea eau du toilette is very light and yummy! This is actually my sister's, she doesn't know how much I've been wearing it this month...
♥Maybelline's Colossal mascara I love because of the giant brush. I'm in need of a new mascara, if you have any recommendations tell me below!
♥Carmex is such an awesome product! I put it on right before I go to bed every night, I wake up in the morning with it on lips! It's so long lasting. Everyone should have Carmex in their life.
♥Prestige bronzer is a great, shimmery bronzer. I love to use it on my cheeks to warm up my face. It gives me that summer glow!

I hope you enjoyed my late May favorites! What were you loving last month? Did we have anything in common?

Lots of love!

The Bold and the Bronzed- Makeup of the Day

Hello fashionistas!
Believe it or not, when I started this blog I planned on it being a makeup blog, it quickly became a fashion blog.
I happened to take a bunch of pictures after I did my makeup Saturday night, so I thought why not do a face of the (other) day! Sorry the picture quality isn't great, I don't have a great camera. I actually just used my Iphone for these. I liked this look so much that I did it again today!

Hope you like!

Face

  • ELF Contouring and Blush duo
  • Rimmel Matte Bronzer in Sunny
  • NYC creme blush in Plaza Pink
  • Essence blush in Almost Famous
  • Prestige bronzer
  • Benefits Boi-ing and Eyebright concealer
  • Physician's Formula translucent powder
Eyes
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Stila's Kitten all over lid and inner corner
  • UD Half Baked in my outer corner in the middle of my lower lashline
  • UD Smog in my crease and outer corner of my lower lashline
  • I used NYX's yogurt creme pencil as a base on my lower lashline
  • Maybelline's Colossal mascara
  • Stila's Lash Visor mascara
  • NYC liquid liner
  • UD Naked to fill in my eyebrows

Just a silly picture. Hehehe(:

Today I took my big biology exam... It was pretty hard! I have 2/3 of my life back (I still have one more part to do). Sadly next week I have a biology test, so this weekend I'll be studying (weekend.... only 4 days away). Friday I have a geometry test that I have to do well on... I have a lot of studying to do for that!

Enough of my ramblings!

I hope you guys have a great week, I'll post soon!

ELF Cream Liner Requested Review

Hello beautyistas,
I have a requested review on ELF's Cream Eyeliner for you all today.

Via
Natural light, this a very light swatch. I didn't layer it on my hand.
I wiped each spot with a paper towel for 10 seconds, this was after I wiped.

I really like this eyeliner, it is very easy to work with, it doesn't slide off, and it's very black.
Also, it's only a mere $3.00! I think the packaging is very sleek, especially for the $3 price.

Product: 10/10
Price: 10/10
Pigmentation: 9/10
Packaging: 10/10

I hope this little review helps!

March Favorites!

Hello my beauty-istas!
I have a little March Favorites post here for you.

I've been loving my Naked palette so much. My favorite shades are Sin, Naked, and Buck. I've been using Sin and Buck to create a soft, shimmery look for school lately. I've just been using Naked to fill in the sparse areas in my eyebrows.

NYC Creme Blush in 'Plaza Pink'-this creates the warmest pink glow on my cheeks. I love it.

I hadn't picked up UDPP until January, now I don't know how I lived without! It works so well, if you don't already have it then you really need to go buy it.

ELF (regular line) bronzer in 'luminance'-this is the ultimate, cheap glow product! For $1 you can't go wrong.

Carmex Strawberry chapstick- this has been a savior since I have had a lot of allergies going on, which causes me to have to breathe through my mouth.

Stila Lash Visor waterproof mascara- this is great to just wear when you don't feel like wearing anything else. This mascara is my new favorite, it gives me flirty, fluttery lashes. Love!

ELF Cream Liner in black- I know this has been in my favorites like 10 times. I still love the dark, intense look it gives my eyes.

Physicians Formula Mineral Finishing Veil, this product leaves my skin flawless and smooth.

L-R
ELF Luminance, NYC Plaza Pink, Urban Decay Sin, Buck, and Naked

Sorry I didn't swatch the finishing powder, it literally is transparent. The Carmex chapstick is clear. Sorry, I just completely forgot to show the liner. If anyone wants to see it, let me know in the comments!

Garnier Fructis Leave in Conditioner Cream- this is the best leave in conditioner ever! It leaves my hair so soft and nourished. I have repurchased this over 5 times! Love!

Banana Boat Aloe After the Sun Lotion- this is my favorite summer/spring lotion. It leaves my skin feeling healthy and hydrated. If you have a sunburn this helps relieve the pain. I have suspicion that it helps prolong my tan.. I'm not sure if it's meant to do that though! Plus the smell is delicious!

Crest Whitening Scope toothpaste- I can tell a little bit of a difference in the whiteness of my teeth. Not only can I tell a little bit of a difference but, I really love the minty feeling I get right after I use this. Very fresh! I've repurchased this twice now.

Those are my favorites for March! Hope you enjoyed! If you want to see a swatch of the ELF liner just let me know.

What have you been loving? Are you loving anything that I'm loving?

Lots of love!

Favoris de Janvier !

Hello my fashionistas!
I have my January favorites for you all.
I decided to do the title in French because I'm in French class and my best friend Melissa reads my blog (hey girlfrannnn!) and we have French together. I feel like my teacher would be proud!
I have a little confession, I hate doing favorite posts!
It's not that I don't like reading them because I love doing that but, all the work of swatching, deciding what I loved during the month, and how to keep it from being a rambling post drives me nuts! I feel like I don't always give one product enough talk during the post or I talk too much about another! Have no fear though, I'll keep doing them!

Here's what I've been loving for my eyes during Janvier!

Urban Decay Naked Palette (specifically Hustle, Sin, and Virgin, and Naked for my brows) ♥
MAC pan shadows in Satin Taupe and Twinks ♥
NYC Liquid Liner in Black ♥
Maybelline Colossal Lash in Glam Brown ♥
Rimmel Lond 1-2-3 Mascara ♥
  • I love the Naked palette, honestly I can't rave enough about it. Hustle is the most amazing crease color for a neutral smoky eye! Love! Sin makes a great inner corner color. Virgin is good for a frostier highlight. I've been using Naked to fill in the sparse areas in my brows.
  • Satin Taupe is my holy grail color! It's just fantastic! I've been using it mostly all over the lid but, if you want to go for a lighter smoky daytime eye I think it would be a great crease color. Twinks is really great too, it adds definition to my outer corner when I use Satin Taupe all over with Sin in the inner corner, Hustle in the crease, and Virgin as a highlight.
  • I used to abhor liquid liner but, this liner is so great! I'm no pro at applying liquid liner, I stink at lining the inner corner area. It always comes out to wide of a line, any tips? Anyways, NYC liquid liner is super cheap (under $3.00 at Target), super black, and I love the brush. Cheap and good, what's not to love?!
  • My Falsies finally got used up (must repurchase!!!) so I've been using my Colossal and I've been really enjoying it. I've found that it's a drier mascara but, it does a good job at lengthening (although I think it's meant for volume right?) any-who, I love!
  • I won the Rimmel 1-2-3 mascara on Ellie Love's Friday Freebie a month or two ago and I didn't use it very much because I found it to be too wet. I started using it again after I used up my Rimmel Lash Maxx and Falsies and I found that I love it! When used with Colossal underneath with a coat or two of this over it, it gives a very full lash affect! Beware though, it's a very wet mascara.
Left to Right:
Satin Taupe, Twinks, Hustle, Sin, Virgin, & the NYC Liquid Liner in black.

Left to Right:
NYC Liquid Liner, Colossal, Rimmel 1-2-3.
Rimmel 1-2-3 is one of those mascaras with different 'settings' , this is 'setting' number 2. I guess 1 and 2 give a little bit of a different effect but, not so much that I use one more than the other!

Face Favorites!

Stila Road to Radiance (only the cream blush in Hibiscus) ♥
ELF Contouring and Blush duo (only the bronzer) ♥
ELF Pink Passion Blush ♥

  • The cream blush in here is highly pigmented and it blends super easily. I love layering Pink Passion over it.
  • I know, the contouring and blush duo was in last month but, I love! It's such a great contouring color. I never contoured before and now I don't know how I survived without!
  • This blush was also in my favorites last month but, I've been using it a ton!

Left to right:
Hibiscus, Pink Passion, Pink Passion over Hibiscus, and the contouring bronzer.
In real life Pink Passion alone and over Hibiscus is a lot more vibrant. Hibiscus alone is looking more purple-y but, really it's a deep pink.

Finally my perfume/nails/lip favorites!

DKNY Be Delicious ♥♥♥
OPI Windy City Pretty ♥
Rimmel London Airy Fairy lipstick ♥

  • I've wanted this perfume for like 2 years and when Lily bought it for me I was so happy! Thanks girl! Whenever I wear it (ahem, everyday!) I get loads of compliments and questions about what I have on!
  • I took this polish a couple of months ago from my mom and never put it back in her bathroom... I started wearing it a lot during the end of the month. Opaque in two coats and a very simple pink.
  • I heard loads of people raving about this lipstick and I had to pick it up! It's a nice pink with what looks like to me kind of a golden sheen? I don't know! My lips are super pigmented on their own but, I occasionally like wearing lipstick and this is a nice neutral pink that requires no fuss!
Left to Right:
OPI Windy City Pretty & Airy Fairy.

Excuse the fact that my hand/arm looks all fat, the tape and the awkward angle I had to bend my hand to get a good picture makes my hand look bloated!

Let me know what your favorites of Janvier were!

Loads of love!

My Favorite Beauty Products 2010

Hey fashionistas!
I've been seeing a lot of bloggers posting their favorite beauty products of 2010, so I thought I would do mine. I'm not sure if they have to be new products from 2010 or products just new to you. My favorites are a bit of both.
By the way these are in no particular order.

Orly "Close Your Eyes" polish.
I took this months ago from my mom's bathroom and let me say that it hasn't made a return trip! It's a beautiful magenta color, opaque in 2 coats.
ELF "Smoky Brown" polish, or as I call it "Smoky Bear".

I think that this is the best fall/winter polish. It's very neutral and I love it. Normally I like pinks, reds, or deeper colors but this is amazing! Plus it's only $1. Seriously, what's not to love?

Co. Bigelow Lip Glosses
So maybe this isn't just a 2010 favorite. More like an all time favorite. Not just in this shade either, all of the scents and flavors are so amazing! They are super glossy and they aren't sticky at all. Bonus they are minty and on the package it says to have "breath freshening benefits".

ELF Contouring and Blush Duo
A new favorite of mine, but none the less a favorite! I don't really use the blush side (it's very sparkly) but I use the bronzer to contour everyday. It's not too dark for the winter at all. Plus it's $3 compared to the infamous Nars duo which I believe is $36; I'm not positive about that though.

NYC Color Wheel Mosaic Powder in "Pink Cheek Glow"
I bought this in I think April and I used it a lot and around October I stopped using it because I had put it in a makeup bag that I had in a random purse. I found it and I re-discovered my love for it. It really does give a nice glow, it isn't the longest lasting blush though but if you apply a creme blush under it then it has a longer lasting time.
EOS Lipbalm in Summer Fruits
Seriously? Do I even need to explain my love for this? I think not! If you don't already have one then I suggest you go buy one!

Wet n' Wild "Vanity" palette
This is a new product to me (like I bought it a few weeks ago) and it has already become a staple in my makeup! My favorite ones are the first on the left for a highlight, the 2nd on the left for a midtone color, and the bottom two for crease colors. This was so cheap and the quality is incredible, Wet n' Wild has seriously stepped up their game.

Stila "Kitten" eyeshadow
I use this basically everyday as a base color my bronzey looks (and other looks) also it's a great inner corner color. If you don't have this then you should, it flatters many (if not all) skintones.

Maybelline's "Falsies" mascara
This was a new product from 2010 and I have to say, it was love at first coat. I like to layer it over Rimmel's Lash Maxx mascara for a truly dramatic look.

Rimmel's Lash Maxx mascara.
As I said above I like to layer a coat of this with a coat of Falsies over it. This is the best lengthening mascara I've ever used.
Stila Smudge Pot in "Black"
I love cream eyeliners so much because of this! They glide on so nicely! If you aren't up to paying the $20 then I suggest the ELF Studio line cream liner in black. I promise it's just as good. I switch off between those two. I really do need to do a comparison post! One of these days....
*All of the images used were found through google images*
That's all for now glamistas!
I tag all of you to do a round-up of your favorite beauty products from 2010!
