5 Minute Eye

Hello fashionistas!
I did a quick and simple eye look and I wanted to share it with you all. I've been wearing this a lot when I want makeup on, but I don't want to look overdone. Plus it takes barely 5 minutes to do!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Stila's Kitten all over lid and in inner corner
Urban Decay's Naked in the crease
Urban Decay's Virgin as a brow highlight
E.L.F Studio Cream Liner in Brown
Covergirl Waterproof Lashblast on upper and bottom lashes

Here's a crappy webcam picture of my entire face! Sorry, my actual camera died before I had a chance to take a full face picture.

Do you guys have a 5 minute eye look? Do you tend to go to neutrals when you're in a time pinch or pops of color?

Today Lily is coming over to help me clean out my closet (plus my shoes, bags, and jewelry)! This is going to be an all day job. Wish us luck!

Have a splendid Saturday!

Done Up - Eye of the Day

Hello beautyistas!
I have a little eye of the day that I did today. Simple bronzey eye makeup, bronze and gold looks are some of my favorites to do!

Products used:

Urban Decay Primer Potion
Stila Acapulco trio, the outer color all over my lid
Urban Decay Half Baked all over the Stila shade
Urban Decay Smog in the outer corner
ELF Cream Eyeliner in brown on upper lashline
Colossal on my upper lashes (one coat)
NYX Jumbo Eye Pencil in Yogurt as a base on my lower lashline
Urban Decay Smog all over the Yogurt
Urban Decay Half Baked in the inner corner of my lower lashline, about 1/3 of my lower lashline has that over Smog
Urban Decay Whiskey in the outer corner of my bottom rim of my eye

That's it!
Sorry I didn't take a full face picture, it just slipped my mind.

Today was the sister's birthday and we had a little party, it was fun. Lily got to come over and we hung out for a bit. We went through old yearbooks and laughed so hard! Yearbook photos are just NOT a good representation of how one actually looks. I got to drive for the first time in 2 weeks today, did a pretty good job, if I do say so myself.. And I am!
I have a couple of things that I purchased yesterday (mom purchased for me...), I'm going to take photos and put them up probably Sunday or Monday. I didn't get much, only one clothing item, and it was pajamas!

Blue and Stars + Eye of the Day

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you want I wore in honor of 4th of July.
We did a little BBQ action, but I skipped on fireworks because they are not my favorite thing.
I'm probably one of the few people who aren't fond of them!
Shirt: Liz Clairborne  Star top: Belk Shorts: Dockers (bought at Bealls) Watch: Avenues Shoes: Aerosoles Sunglasses:

I finally realized that I need to set my camera on macro mode to pick up makeup well, I used macro on all of these. The only thing I do not like about macro is that it makes me look so pale!
Anyways, here's my patriotic eye makeup!

Urban Decay Primer Potion
NYX Yogurt pencil as a base on my lower lash line
Stila's Stone eyeshadow all over and in the middle of my lower lash line
Stila's Smog in the crease
Sleek original I-Divine palette dark, shimmery blue in the crease, and all over the bottom lash line
Urban Decay's Virgin in the inner corner, bottom inner corner, and highlight
ELF Studio Cream liner on my upper lash line
Urban Decay's Creep over the ELF Studio Cream liner
Rimmel London 1-2-3 mascara on upper lashes
Covergirl waterproof LashBlast mascara on lower lashes

This showed up a little bit more silver than blue, don't worry it was definitely blue!

How'd you guys spend your 4th of July?

Recently Purchased Makeup Swatches

Hello fashionistas!

As promised, here are the swatches of all my recently purchased beauty goodies!

Hard Candy Fox in a Box blush in Hot Flash

Stila convertible color (can be used as a creme blush or on your lips) in Lillium
Please excuse my top in the mirror, I hate when I take a picture of products with mirrors and I end up in it. Sorry!

Left to right:
Hot Flash all blended together, lower left corner of Hot Flash, upper left corner, lower right corner, upper right corner, Lillium unblended, blended.
I'm sorry these aren't the best swatch pictures, my camera is not good at focusing. Annoying.

Stila long wear lip liners in Devoted (left) and Delighted (right).
Delighted on top, devoted on bottom. I like devoted better because it's pinker.

Wet n' Wild palette in Comfort Zone.
This is the left side of the palette, the top has no base and the bottom has Urban Decay's primer potion underneath it. I'm incredibly impressed with this palette!

This is the right side of the palette (not that you couldn't have guess that that was coming)! Again the top has no base, and the bottom has Urban Decay's primer potion underneath it.
Again, the pigmentation leaves me dumbfounded! I paid a whopping $3.99 for this, the quality is crazy good!
The last color has a duochrome finish, which I thought I was able to capture in the pictures above. It can show up as blue, brown, and red. It's a beautiful color. If you should buy one thing out of everything I've swatched, this is it.

Stila duo eyeshadows in Burgundy and Seashell.
Again, my camera wasn't focusing, sorry this isn't a very sharp image.
The top has no primer (left burgundy, right seashell). The bottom has Urban Decay's primer potion underneath it. Seashell is a pretty warm, shimmery pink. Burgundy is a deep, shimmering brown. They work well together.

We finally have our room put together (for the most part). My desk has been ordered, and so have the duvet covers. I hope it gets here before we leave for vacation! I'm am dying to show you guys, but I don't want to to do it until it's all here. You guys will love it!

If you all want to see any looks with these products, let me know, I'm more than happy to do it!

Have a great holiday weekend!

Recently Purchased Makeup

Hello fashionistas,
Here are a couple of things I picked up last week.
I seriously need to stop shopping.

I bought this at Costco for a mere $10! Stila is one of my favorite brands (if not all time favorite), so when I saw this I jumped on it. The convertible color on its own is $20, so this was a mega steal.

Wet n' Wild palette in Comfort Zone and Hard Candy Fox in a Box blush in Hot Flash.

If you guys want to see swatches of anything (or everything), let me know in the comments below and I'll get right on it.

I've had a very lazy day. I finished a book, did some laundry, took a bubble bath. That was about it.
What have you all been up to?

May Favorites!

Hello fashionistas!
Sorry my May favorites is so late.... Better late than never!

 ♥Jergens Natural Glow in light
♥Urban Decay Naked palette
♥ELF professional "C" eyeshadow brush
♥Stila 30 brush
♥Benefit Boi-ing and Eyebright concealer duo
♥MAC Melon pigment
♥Bath and Body Works' Eau Du Toilette in Sweet Pea
♥Maybelline Colossal mascara
♥Carmex chapstick in Strawberry
♥Presitge bronzer (no specific name)

Left to right:
Prestige bronzer, UD Naked, UD Half Baked, MAC Melon, Benefit conceal/eyebright *unblended*

♥I bought the Jergens lotion towards the end of April and I used it almost all of May (until I started hitting the pool regularly). I had a lot of comments on my 'tan'.... Little did they know it was a fake, hehe! This was a great buy, it really did gradually build. It looked very real.
♥I know you all are probably sick and tired of seeing the Naked palette in everyone's favorites, but I just can't help my love for this palette! I got really into using Naked and Half Baked this month. I have a look to go up using Naked and Buck, I'll probably put it up tomorrow or Tuesday.
♥ELF's "C" brush is great to pat shadow on the lid. At $3 this brush is a great buy.
♥Stila's #30 brush is double ended. I can dust shadow across my lid and then use the tapered end to add depth in the crease. I use the tapered end almost everyday.
♥I picked up the Benefit duo a month and half ago. At first I wasn't sure if I liked it, but now I love it! I find the concealer to be very creamy, but the eyebright is a little bit difficult to blend. You can buy this duo at Ulta, by the checkout.
♥MAC's Melon pigment was a GREAT buy! I would like to thank my best friend Mel for convincing me that I would use it and it was worth the money! I wore it for 2 weeks straight in the beginning of May, and I never do that!
♥Sweet Pea eau du toilette is very light and yummy! This is actually my sister's, she doesn't know how much I've been wearing it this month...
♥Maybelline's Colossal mascara I love because of the giant brush. I'm in need of a new mascara, if you have any recommendations tell me below!
♥Carmex is such an awesome product! I put it on right before I go to bed every night, I wake up in the morning with it on lips! It's so long lasting. Everyone should have Carmex in their life.
♥Prestige bronzer is a great, shimmery bronzer. I love to use it on my cheeks to warm up my face. It gives me that summer glow!

I hope you enjoyed my late May favorites! What were you loving last month? Did we have anything in common?

Lots of love!

The Bold and the Bronzed- Makeup of the Day

Hello fashionistas!
Believe it or not, when I started this blog I planned on it being a makeup blog, it quickly became a fashion blog.
I happened to take a bunch of pictures after I did my makeup Saturday night, so I thought why not do a face of the (other) day! Sorry the picture quality isn't great, I don't have a great camera. I actually just used my Iphone for these. I liked this look so much that I did it again today!

Hope you like!

Face

  • ELF Contouring and Blush duo
  • Rimmel Matte Bronzer in Sunny
  • NYC creme blush in Plaza Pink
  • Essence blush in Almost Famous
  • Prestige bronzer
  • Benefits Boi-ing and Eyebright concealer
  • Physician's Formula translucent powder
Eyes
  • Urban Decay Primer Potion
  • Stila's Kitten all over lid and inner corner
  • UD Half Baked in my outer corner in the middle of my lower lashline
  • UD Smog in my crease and outer corner of my lower lashline
  • I used NYX's yogurt creme pencil as a base on my lower lashline
  • Maybelline's Colossal mascara
  • Stila's Lash Visor mascara
  • NYC liquid liner
  • UD Naked to fill in my eyebrows

Just a silly picture. Hehehe(:

Today I took my big biology exam... It was pretty hard! I have 2/3 of my life back (I still have one more part to do). Sadly next week I have a biology test, so this weekend I'll be studying (weekend.... only 4 days away). Friday I have a geometry test that I have to do well on... I have a lot of studying to do for that!

Enough of my ramblings!

I hope you guys have a great week, I'll post soon!

Favoris de Janvier !

Hello my fashionistas!
I have my January favorites for you all.
I decided to do the title in French because I'm in French class and my best friend Melissa reads my blog (hey girlfrannnn!) and we have French together. I feel like my teacher would be proud!
I have a little confession, I hate doing favorite posts!
It's not that I don't like reading them because I love doing that but, all the work of swatching, deciding what I loved during the month, and how to keep it from being a rambling post drives me nuts! I feel like I don't always give one product enough talk during the post or I talk too much about another! Have no fear though, I'll keep doing them!

Here's what I've been loving for my eyes during Janvier!

Urban Decay Naked Palette (specifically Hustle, Sin, and Virgin, and Naked for my brows) ♥
MAC pan shadows in Satin Taupe and Twinks ♥
NYC Liquid Liner in Black ♥
Maybelline Colossal Lash in Glam Brown ♥
Rimmel Lond 1-2-3 Mascara ♥
  • I love the Naked palette, honestly I can't rave enough about it. Hustle is the most amazing crease color for a neutral smoky eye! Love! Sin makes a great inner corner color. Virgin is good for a frostier highlight. I've been using Naked to fill in the sparse areas in my brows.
  • Satin Taupe is my holy grail color! It's just fantastic! I've been using it mostly all over the lid but, if you want to go for a lighter smoky daytime eye I think it would be a great crease color. Twinks is really great too, it adds definition to my outer corner when I use Satin Taupe all over with Sin in the inner corner, Hustle in the crease, and Virgin as a highlight.
  • I used to abhor liquid liner but, this liner is so great! I'm no pro at applying liquid liner, I stink at lining the inner corner area. It always comes out to wide of a line, any tips? Anyways, NYC liquid liner is super cheap (under $3.00 at Target), super black, and I love the brush. Cheap and good, what's not to love?!
  • My Falsies finally got used up (must repurchase!!!) so I've been using my Colossal and I've been really enjoying it. I've found that it's a drier mascara but, it does a good job at lengthening (although I think it's meant for volume right?) any-who, I love!
  • I won the Rimmel 1-2-3 mascara on Ellie Love's Friday Freebie a month or two ago and I didn't use it very much because I found it to be too wet. I started using it again after I used up my Rimmel Lash Maxx and Falsies and I found that I love it! When used with Colossal underneath with a coat or two of this over it, it gives a very full lash affect! Beware though, it's a very wet mascara.
Left to Right:
Satin Taupe, Twinks, Hustle, Sin, Virgin, & the NYC Liquid Liner in black.

Left to Right:
NYC Liquid Liner, Colossal, Rimmel 1-2-3.
Rimmel 1-2-3 is one of those mascaras with different 'settings' , this is 'setting' number 2. I guess 1 and 2 give a little bit of a different effect but, not so much that I use one more than the other!

Face Favorites!

Stila Road to Radiance (only the cream blush in Hibiscus) ♥
ELF Contouring and Blush duo (only the bronzer) ♥
ELF Pink Passion Blush ♥

  • The cream blush in here is highly pigmented and it blends super easily. I love layering Pink Passion over it.
  • I know, the contouring and blush duo was in last month but, I love! It's such a great contouring color. I never contoured before and now I don't know how I survived without!
  • This blush was also in my favorites last month but, I've been using it a ton!

Left to right:
Hibiscus, Pink Passion, Pink Passion over Hibiscus, and the contouring bronzer.
In real life Pink Passion alone and over Hibiscus is a lot more vibrant. Hibiscus alone is looking more purple-y but, really it's a deep pink.

Finally my perfume/nails/lip favorites!

DKNY Be Delicious ♥♥♥
OPI Windy City Pretty ♥
Rimmel London Airy Fairy lipstick ♥

  • I've wanted this perfume for like 2 years and when Lily bought it for me I was so happy! Thanks girl! Whenever I wear it (ahem, everyday!) I get loads of compliments and questions about what I have on!
  • I took this polish a couple of months ago from my mom and never put it back in her bathroom... I started wearing it a lot during the end of the month. Opaque in two coats and a very simple pink.
  • I heard loads of people raving about this lipstick and I had to pick it up! It's a nice pink with what looks like to me kind of a golden sheen? I don't know! My lips are super pigmented on their own but, I occasionally like wearing lipstick and this is a nice neutral pink that requires no fuss!
Left to Right:
OPI Windy City Pretty & Airy Fairy.

Excuse the fact that my hand/arm looks all fat, the tape and the awkward angle I had to bend my hand to get a good picture makes my hand look bloated!

Let me know what your favorites of Janvier were!

Loads of love!

Smoky Candy Cane EOTD

Hey fashionistas!
I hope you all had an amazing Christmas (and if you don't celebrate Christmas I hope you had an amazing day!).

Here's the "Smoky Candy Cane" look.

My eyebrows looked all funky in these pictures, they did not look like this the rest of the day.

This is the palette that I used for most of the colors. I hadn't used this in a long time!
*Image taken from Google*
  • VS Creme Shadow for a base
  • Essence Surfer Palette the white color for my inner corner color
  • Flirt Limited Edition palette from 2008, I used the last color in the 4th row from my inner 2/3 of my eye outwards
  • Then I used the 4th color in the 2nd row on the outer corner.
  • I used the 2nd to last color in the last row in my crease/outer corner
  • For my highlight I used the top color on the left of the Vanity palette from Wet n' Wild
  • Stila smudge pot in black
  • Rimmel Lash Maxx
  • Maybelline Falsies

For some reason this just really reminds me of a candy cane!

I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! Here's what our tree looked like before we opened presents.

My sister bought Java a little shirt (hehehe!) so here's Christmas Java!
His shirt said "Sorry Santa I ate the cookies."

I have some posts planned for tomorrow that I'm really excited to post!

Merry Christmas!
