Current Workout Jams

Hello fashionistas!
The past couple of weeks have been busy, but I've been trying to make it to the gym at least four times a week. That's a big cut back from my 6-7 times a week.. I had been going so hard and pushing myself nonstop, but I think I need to take a step back and enjoy everything that is going on in my life and not fret about missing a workout here and there.
I wanted to share what songs I'm currently loving to workout with.

1.) Hey Mama by the Black Eyed Peas is fast and catchy!

2.) Little Black Dress by One Direction is not only a good workout jam, but also the song my sister and I have been playing nonstop when we run errands or drive to school! Don't judge this love, we can't help which boy bands we take a liking to.

3.) Gas Pedal by Sage the Gemini ft Iamsu. This is good for long hauls on the elliptical.

4.) Punching In a Dream by The Naked and Famous is a good song for running.

5.) Let Her Go by Passenger. This is not a workout song, but a cool down song! I enjoy listening to this song when I've reached the end of a strenuous workout or when I'm doing ab work. This song is beautiful and the first time I heard it had me playing it on repeat for 30 minutes.

I'm actually off to go get ready for the gym. I skipped Thursday and Friday for working out and I'm dying to get back to the grind! Tonight I'm going to a basketball game with my boyfriend and his family. Not sure what else this day holds. Hope you all have a wonderful weekend and get any last minute Christmas shopping done! I'm finally finished with my Christmas shopping, now I just have to wrap it all.. Ugh, I suck at wrapping!

Loads of love!

Update

Hello fashionisatas!
This upcoming week is a very hectic one filled with a ton of deadlines and upcoming events. I'm forwarning that I am not sure how much I will be able to post! I have a lot school projects due this week and sometimes I have to put my passion for fashion on the back burner! I will try my hardest to get an outfit or two up here this week.

Between family, friends, and plans I have barely been home.

Here's a snapshot of Lily and I before we went to volunteer on Sunday morning. Twinnin' with our aviators.

This upcoming Sunday is my 18th birthday and I cannot be more excited. Things are crazy, but crazy good. I promise a more in depth update very soon! Please bear with  me.

And on a random note here is my current jam of the moment.

John Legend All of You
The lyrics are hauntingly beautiful.

Loads of love!

Current Workout Jams

Hello fashionistas!
In honor of the fact that I am missing my workout tonight, I wanted to do a workout music post. I haven't done one in a few weeks and have a few new songs to share with you all! I'm missing my workout tonight because I was at a mentor-mentee program, an amazing experience that I hope will have a big impact on my future. Anyways, onto the music I've been moving and grooving to!

Work by Lil Jon. We dance to this song in the Zumba classes I go to and I have to admit that I really love this song. The beat is so fast paced and keeps me going strong!

Who's That Chick by David Guetta ft Rihanna.
I really like running to this song, the beat is really catchy.

Evacuate The Dancefloor by Cascada.
I love love love running to this song. It's also a good song to push through long hauls on the elliptical!

Wake Me Up by Avicii.
My best friend, Lily, is going to hate this song choice, but I seriously enjoy it.. At first I wasn't sold on the song and felt like his voice was slightly country-esque and it was weird, but after a few more listens it has grown on me!

Calabria 2007 Remix by Enur.
We also dance to this song in Zumba and the rhythm of the song is such a good beat. This song gets stuck in my head all the time.

Have you guys been jamming to any good songs? If so let me know!

Current Workout Jams

Hello fashionistas!
I'm sitting here at my keyboard wondering what I shall spew out today. I'm leaving for the gym in a few, so I decided that I would do a workout music post!
Here are my current five favorite jams to listen to while I break a sweat!

Old school Christina Aguilera will always always always have a space in my heart and on my Ipod. This song has a great beat to run along to.

Give Me All Your Luvin' by Madonna (featuring Niki Minaj and M.I.A.) is a good song to keep you moving while running/biking/anything. It's very catchy.

Daylight by Matt & Kim is one of my new favorites to run to while I'm warming up. It's short and sweet.

That's My Kind of Night by Luke (HELLA HOTTIE) Bryan. This song is ALWAYS my warm up song for my runs. It's good and he's hot, enough said.

Lucky Strike by Maroon 5 is really good once I get in my running mojo. I normally pump the treadmill up to a 6.0 by the time I get to this song because it is so fast paced.

What are you guys jamming to while you're breaking a sweat? I love to find new songs for my gym playlist!

Hope you're doing well, I'm off to spin class!
Loads of love!

Snapshots and Snippets of Life

Hello fashionistas!
This is kind of a random hodge podge post. I just wanted to share some pictures and show what has been going on in my life for the past few days.

My girl Alonna and I participated in Maxi Monday. We chucked the deuces in the air for a quick photo. Love this girl!

Can we all just agree that the N'Sync reunion and Justin Timberlake performance was the best part of the VMAs? Yes, thanks.

I did Lily's hair and makeup for her senior pictures. I did a slightly purple smoked out eye to help bring out her green/blue eyes. She had worn her hair in a top knot to go to sleep in because it normally makes her curls really defined, but it was really frizzy. I plugged my curling iron in and gave her soft curls.

I woke up the other morning and witnessed my cat being adorably lazy on one of the chairs. Java likes to sleep all day and party all night.

Can we discuss how fabulous Oscar de la Renta ad in Vogue is? I'm loving this year's September Vouge issue. It is amazing.

I'm off to go finish some schoolwork and hang with the best friend.
Loads of love!

New Running Shoes and Current Workout Jams

Hello fashionistas!
I have recently taken up running and my mom told me I had to get new shoes. She took me to a running store and I was fitted for a pair of running shoes! Very exciting stuff. I tried on about five different pairs. I thought that getting fit for shoes would be an awkward experience, but I had a really nice man who told me what my feet were doing when I was running. I ended up with shoes that gave my ankles more support because I have pronation. This means that my ankle rolls inward when I put my feet down. These are by the brand Asic.

I took these bad boys for a spin today and ran 30 minutes straight (just over 2.6 miles). I'm really proud of myself because I never thought I would be a runner, but here I am just running away! I increased my pace throughout my run from a 5.2 to a 5.5. I ended the last 10 minutes at a 5.5 pace. I'm pleasantly surprised with myself! The shoes made my run a lot more comfortable. I cannot wait to keep running with them.

I've recently begun listening to country music (UH WHO AM I? RUNNING AND COUNTRY MUSIC I DON'T EVEN KNOW) and I wanted to share a few country songs I really enjoy running to!

I Want Crazy by Hunter Hayes keeps me at a good speed and I love the catchy lyrics.

Flat On the Floor by Carrie Underwood is such a good song to workout to. Fast paced and powerful.

Best I Ever had by Gavin Degraw is a quick beat and keeps my feet moving.
I know this doesn't really count as country, but I still love this song.

Hope you guys have had a great weekend! I'm off to go meet a friend for coffee.
Loads of love!

This Week's Top 5 Workout Jams #2

Hello fashionistas!
I'm home from the lovely island of St. John and I thought it would be a great time to whip out a blog post.
I wanted to share another five songs that I'm currently loving on my workout playlist.
If you missed my last post you can see what I was jammin' to the other week by clicking here!

1.) Jumpin' Jumpin' by Destiny's Child.
This song is an oldie but a goodie! I love the fast paced, catchy lyrics!

2.) Drop It Low by Ester Dean featuring Chris Brown
I have to admit.. I bought the soundtrack from the Bling Ring movie. I like the beat of this song. It makes me feel so sassy. This is one of my favorite songs to do squats and lunges to.

3.) Show Me How You Burlesque from the Burlesque movie soundtrack.
Christina can beltttttt those notes out! This song is so powerful and makes me feel like I can keep moving and grooving all night long!

4.) Undo It by Carrie Underwood
This songs starts out slightly slow, but quickly picks up. The lines are SO catchy. My mom and I have been singing this the past couple of days. I dare you to listen to and not have it stuck in your head!

5.) Love Sex Magic by Ciara featuring Justin Timberlake
I like this song for when I'm doing ab moves. I love me some Justin!

I cannot wait to share my vacation photos with you all. I had an amazing time!
Tonight I plan on working on my blog header and reading a book for school. I have many assignments to do.. Yey... Will slowly but surely get them done in the next couple of weeks. Tomorrow I have to unpack my luggage. I also plan on cleaning out my closet.

Hope you all are well!

A Well Spent Weekend

Hello fashionistas!
This holiday weekend has been a very busy, but fun weekend.
I just wanted to catch you up on some of what I have done with the following pictures!

Fourth of July was spent with my girl, Jenna. The two of us had a fab time at her family's BBQ. We got our diva glow on with a ton of glowsticks.

The next day I went over to my friend Kali's house. We got our tan on and swam in the deep blue ocean. We both ended up extremely sun burnt. This would be the burnt aftermath. My shoulders and back were the worst.

I popped my acrylic nails off the other day because they were peeling and I knew I would need to get fresh ones put on when I go next week. It feels weird to not have them on my nails. My nails are now very weak. Which is something I fully expected to happen.

This morning I went to the gym and did a body pump class and after that I got my cardio on.
I finally accomplished 3 miles in 35 minutes! I was so pumped because I normally only hit 2.91 or 2.95 miles. I pushed myself so hard. Also, I have my resistance and crossramp much higher than shown in the picture. I change it up throughout the workout. The machine sets it back to a resistance of 1 once the time is over.

Afterwards my dad and I dragged our sore, sweaty selves to this local place called Fishtails for some delicious breakfast  brunch. I was so hungry, but I only managed to eat half of this omelette.

Here is a cute picture of my dog in a jacket. Just livin' the pampered dog life.

This CD is what I have been currently jamming to in my car. I love me some JT.

#Shamelessselfie
I'm still pretty burnt, but it is slowly fading into a tan. Except not on my red red red nose. My smile is so big because my mom is FINALLY coming home from Michigan after two and a half weeks! I cannot wait to see her.

Hope you're having a fab weekend!

This Weeks' Top 5 Workout Jams

Hello fashionistas!
The past couple of days have been action packed! During the craziness I still like to maintain a steady workout routine. I wanted to share my current top five workout jams. I have to update my playlist pretty often or else I get bored. Same with my workout routine; I like to add different classes or machines in to keep the workouts entertaining!

1.) Brokenhearted Mixin' Marc and Tony Svejda Club Remix by Karmin

This song really helps me get through long stretches where I have the elliptical pumped up to a high resistance.

2.) Wings by Little Mix

This song is catchy and really gets me movin' and groovin'!

3.) Yeah! by Usher featuring Lil Jon and Ludacris

This song is sassy, I love it.

4.) Pom Poms by the Jonas Brothers

This song is high energy and keeps my legs pumping away. No judgement for the fact that it's the JoBros..

Bounce by Bon Jovi

If you guys have been reading for awhile then I know you all know my Bon Jovi love, but if not then the secret is out!

These are definitely not the only songs on my playlist. I have over fifty workout songs currently on my "GYM MOVE YOUR BOOTY" playlist.

Do you guys have any good workout songs for me to add?
Hope everyone has a fabulous 4th of July tomorrow. I will be going to a friends' July 4th party.

Casual in Emerald and Black.

Hello fashionistas!
Sorry for being a bit MIA lately- life has been craaaaazaaay.
This week was midterm week at school and it was like a nonstop stress-fest. If all goes according to plan I should end up with all A's again. Crossing my fingers that the final grades (essays and projects) keep me safe! Sorry for neglecting the blog, I just had to focus school. Anyways, here's an outfit that I meant to post #lastweek. Yes, I am behind..

Shirt: The GAP Jacket: Jones New York Scarf: birthday present from New York and Company Jeans: Kohl's Shoes: Nine West Ring: birthday present.

I really wanted a casual look for this day because after school I was going to check in on my boyfriend- he had just had his wisdom teeth removed. Then after that I was going out for sushi with one of my friends.

I loved that my mom got me this scarf for my birthday because Pantone just named emerald has the 2013 color of the year! I love the subtle glam with the sequins. I paired my t-strap heels with cuffed jeans for a laid back look. I kept my hair and makeup very simple.

Today my sister and our good friend went Christmas shopping at the mall. I finished my mom's present, my sister's present, my boyfriend's presents and some presents for a few friends. I also *may* have purchased a few things that were on sale for myself! Will show you guys soon!

Tomorrow my family is going down to Orlando to visit some family from my mom's side. Should be really fun, especially because the boyfriend is tagging along. Hope you guys get all of your last minute holiday presents bought and enjoy the weekend!

Loads of love!

PS: I have fallen in love with Paloma Faith's music, she is amazing. Give this song a listen!

And this one..

Alright, I'm really leaving now. ( ;

Last Week in Pictures

Hello my beautiful fashionistas!
I thought I'd show you a glimpse into last week, it was a busy week!

1.) Me messing around on my webcam. I had MAC's melon pigment on my eyes in case anyone was wondering, I don't recall the other products!
2.) My sleepy bebe! Mr. Java. just lazing around. He's so cute!
3.) David Cook's new CD titled This Loud Morning. I'm so in love with this CD! I saw him in concert back in 8th grade, he's so good.
4.) I'm a huge fan of Lousie Bagshawe, her books are scandalous and filled with plot twists! The Go-To Girl was no different, you should definitely check her books out. I finished this book and two others that I would have pictured had I not lent them to Mel.
5.) I spent a good 2 days painting last week. This is your little preview into what my room looks like...!
6.) Mel and I being funny and posing with our rollers! Aren't we cute?

This was last week, I'll do another post next week about this week. Does that make any sense at all?
I hope it does!

Today I did some stuff around the house, nothing special.
Tomorrow I'm packing for vacation. I am the worst at packing, I always overpack. Seriously... I can never decided just how MANY pairs of shoes to bring.

Ins and Outs #3

Hello fashionistas!
I meant to post yesterday (I'm trying to post every other day) but, I went to get my hair cut and while I was there my best friend Lily texted me and was like "want to come over and watch a movie?"
Of course I was like "sure." Then I ended up spending the night, so that's why I didn't blog yesterday!

Anyways, onto my latest ins and outs.

INS

1.) Summertime! I'm so glad I don't have to go to school, do school work (other than my economics class that I'm forcing myself to do), and see people from school. Hello lazy days!

2.) Nightgowns. I don't know if it's just me, but when summertime comes around I love to sleep in nightgowns. I bought one awhile ago from Kohls (the Simply Vera Vera Wang line) and it is my favorite nightgown! It's soft, comfy, loose but not too loose. It's sort of pajama heaven. I have the pink one. I was going to take a picture of mine, but I realized it's in the wash!

3.) Cleaning and organizing! Ask my best friends, I'm sort of a neat freak. I don't like going to bed in an unmade bed, things have to be tidy, and I don't like the things being out of their designated spot! In preparation of re-doing my room (well the one I share with the sister), I've been cleaning and organizing a lot of stuff!

4.) I'm into brights on my toes/nails. Right now I have on "Charged Up Cherry" by OPI. This is showing up way more coral than it is in real life. It's definitely a pink with some orangey tones in it.

5.) Basking in the sun! Practice safe basking and use SPF!

6.) The musical stylings of Adele. She's ah-mazing! I love Turning Tables. She's also incredibly beautiful.

OUTS

1.) Stress! Stress is gone now that school is out!

2.) Staying up late. For the last couple of nights I've been staying up until the wee hours of the dawn. Bad idea. I'm a light sleeper so I wake up and then I'm tired all day! Plus, I'm not one of those people who can a.) fall back asleep or b.) take a nap.

3.) I'm putting wearing black as an out, but I know I'll probably end up in black again! I just love the way white pops against a good tan. Too bad I don't have good tan going!

4.) There are really bad fires where I live right now and it's really smoky out. It's been raining off and on all day, so hopefully that will help diminish the smoke. This would be part of the reason why I don't have a good tan going.

What are some of your ins and outs?

Ins and Outs #1

Hey fashionistas,
I've been wanting to do a post like this for awhile!
Here's a rundown of what is 'in' and what is 'out' for me!

IN

  1. I'm dying to try color blocking! I've got a couple of ideas for it. Love this picture!
      Credit
  2. Taking my outfit of the day photos outside
  3. I'm loving this David Cook song (only on Youtube as of now) The Last Goodbye, GO LISTEN
  4. I'm really into saving photos that I find inspiring to an "Inspirational" folder on my laptop. I used to do this like all of the time, but I stopped. Now I'm back into it The photo above happens to be in my inspiration file! Let me know if you ever want to see some of the inspirational pictures I save!
  5. Texting. I used to not be a big texter and now I can't seem to stop! It's been annoying my mom lately. *Mental note- stop texting*
  6. Reading! I've read a couple of good books lately. Love the One You're With by Emily Griffin and Skipping a Beat  by Sarah Pekkanen . I highly suggest you check these out, so good! I'm currently reading a A Model Summer  by Paulina Porizkova.

OUT

  1. I'm really tired of girls at my school being two faced! Grow up, get over yourself, and stop gossiping! These girls need to learn the old lesson on "if you don't have anything nice to say, then don't say anything at all."
  2. Gone are the dark smoky eyes. I'm moving into lighter, summer makeup. Now I'm just using a shimmery shade all over and a slightly dark color in my crease to intensify my makeup. Of course I'm switching it up day to day!
  3. Procrastinating. Leaving things until the last minute gives me anxiety! It's better if I just do it ahead of time. My best friend Lily is one of those people who can wait last minute, I sadly cannot!

Hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you want me to keep doing these, I really liked doing this post!

This Is the Story of My Life & I Write It Everyday

Hey fashionistas,
sorry for not posting for almost two days (the horror!) , I've been busy.
Let me give you a little update on my life.
So remember how I told you my guy friend and I were arguing? Well I was the bigger person and apologized and we put it behind us, although things won't be the same due to what we argued about but, I'm not going to get into that!
I had two quizzes and a test today, so I was studying it up yesterday.
I'm pretty sure I didn't do well on my geometry test, the teacher wasn't there for the past two days and then he gave us a test on two sections he didn't teach us! *sigh*
My other quizzes were super easy though.
We have a four day weekend, so today is my Friday!
I'm going to have a five day weekend because of the Bon Jovi concert my mom and I are going to see, I won't be back at school until Wednesday!
Tomorrow one of my best friends (Melissa) is going shopping with me and my mom, Nana, and sister. We're going to Forever 21 and Costco.
My mission is to find a cute top to wear to the concert on Monday!
Mel hasn't been to the giant Forever 21 near us yet, so this will be quite an overwhelming experience! Even though I've been multiple times, I still can't get over the vastness of the store!
Almost 120,000 sq feet of Forever 21 !

Anyways, ramble over! Here's what I threw on before I walked out the door.

Shirt: New York and Company
Tank top: Aeropostale
Necklace: Forever 21
Cardigan: Forever 21
Shoes: Old Navy
Jeans: GV

This is such an unattractive photo of myself!
Oh, the necklace says "LOVE" but, the LO is on top of the VE .

Somedays when I don't know what to wear I just throw on layers of the same color, so today was very black on black. Or as the French would say "noir sur noir."
Just a wee bit of casual French!

Here's Nana with me after dinner!
I really need to get more sleep, my eyes look so tired...

Oh and this is random but, I wanted to show you the vase I've been working on in my pottery class, it's way different now then when I last talked about it.
Warning, it's very abstract. I finished doing the lines/swirls on it today, but this photo was taken yesterday. Also the bag in the opening is just to make sure it kept its form.
This is it looking from the back.
Casual side view.

A lot of people said it looked like broccoli or cauliflower. Some think it's a tree, or a person's head.
I think it looks sort of under the sea-ish.
I guess it is open to your own interpretation. I just kind of embraced it's wonky form! My teacher loves it, she helped me get it to lean like it does.
Right now it's drying out, so I'll be probably getting it fired on Wednesday or Thursday.
I'm thinking of painting it a light blue or teal.
After somebody threw out that it looked like cauliflower I decided against a cream color!

Oh, another random side note, I got a super cute denim pencil skirt today from Coldwater Creek (which I call Oldwater Creek...) but, this skirt was too cute!
For Valentines day my mom bought me a purple plaid jacket from there, I'll show you guys soon!

I hope you're all having a fabulous day! Happy almost Friday!

PS: This is the song that I got the title from, it's Bon Jovi and it's called... Story of My Life.
My friend Mel and I adore it, we shortened it to 'SOML' !
