Haul Time

Hello fashionistas!
This weekend I did some shopping with my mom and aunt. My mom had a 30% coupon for Kohl's because she's has a Kohl's charge so we went there on Sunday.

I am in complete love with this dress by Elle. It's sort of color-blocked, which is going to be huge again this season. I'm working on color-blocking, I'm never sure if it looks good on me! I like this because it's already color-blocked and the pattern makes it less obvious. I love the bow belt, cinches in and looks really cute. This dress is really good for my figure.

 I picked up this blazer that was on mega sale. You guys know I'm such a huge fan of blazers. They are my signature piece! This is a bit big, but I wanted it loose. I didn't have a grey one or a plaid one, so obviously it had to be added my collection! (;

I've also been on the hunt for a colored jacket/blazer. So, I found this rust colored blazer. It's like a lighter fabric, not so structured. It does have a lapel like a blazer, so I'm calling it a blazer! I do not like the way this photographed, it looks so boxy! When I tried it on it wasn't boxy.

My mom and I ventured over to JcPenny today and I found this adorable shirt for only $9! That's right, single digits! Their new pricing system is kind of weird, but I'm not complaining because if this shirt hadn't been on sale it would have been in the $30-40 range. I like the color because I think it will be really good for spring, a nice pale pastel. I think the gold buttons are super cute. Plus it fits in with my current obsession, bow blouses.

I needed new shoes really badly, but I've been on the hunt for pointy ("pizza-toe") black heels for awhile. I found a pair that I liked and that were comfortable! These are from Belk.

Today I worked out and then went with my mom to an eye appointment. I got my new glasses in, I'll put them up in a post sometime next week. I need to get adjusted to them, they were making me dizzy earlier!

I'm off to get ready for tomorrow and watch the Bachelor.
I'm not looking forward to jumping back into school because of the nice 3 day weekend I've had. Hey, at least it's a shorter week!

Back to Basics.

Hello fashionistas!
I felt like I was going back to basics with a button up top over a simple beaded tank-top and my go to (worn out) flats. It was a very laid back outfit.

I went with very simple makeup, just mascara and brown eyeliner on my eyes. The normal face makeup, light on blush and bronzer. A pale pink lipstick and I was ready to go.

Top: New York and Company Blue top: Liz Clairborne Tank-top: Aeropostale Jeans: JCP Shoes: Payless Bag: Jessica Simpson Jewelry: Forever 21

This bag has quickly become my favorite, hold everything bag!
It's a pretty timeless, black purse. Or duffel with the amount of stuff that I carry with me!
Sometime this week I think I'm going to do a "what's in my bag" post.

I had a busy weekend spent with my best friends! Loads of fun. On Friday I spent the night with my best friend, Lily. On Saturday she came over and helped me reorganize my closet. After that I went over to the other best friends' house. We went out to dinner and had a sleepover. Which is always so fun!  This morning we watched the movie Friends With Benefits and it was hysterical. Then we went to the beach, it was beautiful outside Perfect temperature and sunny.

My sister leaves for a week for a school trip to DC. Only child status acquired!

Have a great week!

Dot. Dot.. Dot...

Hello fashionistas!
I wanted to show you all what I wore to school today.
A thought often passes through my mind when I walk out the door, "I look more like a woman going to job than a girl going to school." I like dressing up. I can't wait for the days when I get to be a classy, working woman!

Blazer and earrings: New York and Company Top: Belk Jeans: Belk (Jones New York) Shoes: JCP Bracelet: Belk

I have been waiting to wear this shirt and I finally wore it today! I love the sheerness with the polka dots. I wanted to contrast with a bright white blazer, but I also wanted to show you the flowing sleeves.
For a pop of color I added my blue heels. I wanted sleek jewelry, so I wore a silver bracelet and some simple silver, faux diamond stone earrings.

For makeup I did a subtly smokey eye and a bright pink lip. The lip color is not translating very well in these pictures! Annoying. Hair straight and with a bobby pin to pin my bangs over.

I had a really good day today!
I got a chemistry test, one that I took forever ago, and I got a 96%. I worked so hard, I'm really happy!
I also got a 5 on the AP 3D scale for one of my projects. A 6 is the highest and extremely difficult to garner.

I'm off to go do homework. I have a plan to write for english. Then I have to finish steps 3 and 4 for my AP 3D 'exploring my voice'  packet. That's going to take me forever!

Have a great day!

Ladylike Style

Hello belles!

Long time no post! This week was an extremely jam packed, fun, exhausting week!

Wednesday my friends and I had to work on our history project, we had to write a song about Germany and all of their colonies back in the 1900s and make a map to go along with it. We wrote the lyrics last Sunday, started recording it Wednesday, but we didn't finish it. Yesterday two out of the five, plus me (we were the ones who actually recorded it) came over and we finished it! I'm very proud of us.

Then Thursday was my actual birthday and my mom, dad, sister, and I went out the Cheesecake Factory for dinner, delicious! Then mom and I went to Sephora; I actually didn't buy anything! After that we went to Forever 21 for a few minutes and I bought a cardigan and some earrings.

So please forgive me for not posting this week!

Onto a little something I wore this week.

I hadn't worn this pencil skirt in a long, long, long time, so I decided to wear it this week.
Dressed it down with this jacket and a simple black top. Accented with silver shoes and I was ready to go!

Jacket: JCP Shirt: Jones New York Tank top: Kohls Skirt: Coldwater Creek Shoes: Payless

I have a funny story about this jacket. A few weeks ago I let my best friend Lily borrow my favorite jean blazer, actually my only jean blazer. Seen here and in many other posts on my blog.
Anyways, she wore it back to her house and somehow it just 'disappeared.'
She claims to have looked everywhere for it and just can't find it (okay, I know she did, but still it was my favorite jacket)!
So homegirl said she'd buy me a new one or make it up to me. The point was that she shouldn't have just borrowed it and lost it! I wanted my jacket back. So, Lily went in her closet and finds this jacket and goes "here it's yours now."
That would be the story about how I acquired this article of clothing!
Oh Lily, how you make me laugh.

I'm off to get ready for a little party for my cousin's birthday; she's turning 19 on the 16th of this month. Happy almost birthday Meg!

I'll be taking pictures of all my birthday presents and posting them up here either Sunday or Monday.

Loads of love!

Blue Suede Shoes

Hello fashionistas!

I thought I'd show you all what I wore on Wednesday to the High Q Districts.
We were told to dress up, which I love doing, so this is what I wore. I haven't broken these shoes in yet, so I thought this would be a perfect reason to break them in a bit. They have a way to go before they'll be 'comfortable'.

Dress: Forever 21 Jacket: gift Shoes: Nine and Co. from JCP Bracelet: local store

I thought I'd go for a simple LBD (little black dress) with a military-esque jacket and a pop of color in my shoes.

My mom and best friend started singing Elvis' song "Blue Suede Shoes", hence the name of this post!

Lily and I, classic bathroom picture.

I'm pre-writing this post on Thursday night because I'm going home with Lily and spending the night. We're going to go out for a pre-birthday celebration and do some Christmas shopping. Loads of fun!

Have a great weekend!

Trendy Tweed

Hello fashionistas!
The weather has finally cooled down here and I cannot be happier!
I got to wear this jacket that I (well my mom) bought for me last spring when it was on sale at Coldwater Creek. I wore this to school on Tuesday.

Top: American Eagle Jacket: Coldwater Creek Jeans: JcPenny Shoes: Ninewest Earrings and bracelet: Forever 21

I decided that this artsy, tweed, colorful jacket needed a black background, hence the black shirt, flower earrings, bracelet, and heels! I thought the chain link bracelet contrasted with the ladylike softness of the jacket.

For my makeup I went with a daytime smoky eye and my natural lip color. Sorry for not having any close up pictures of my face, my camera was not cooperating with my mom that morning.

Today I had my High Q districts match. Our junior varsity team won one match and lost the second one. My best friend, Lily, was on fire! I played varsity (and was the captain) we sadly lost by one question and a bonus, so close! I'll post outfit pictures from that sometimes this week!

Tomorrow I have a French test, history test on imperialism, and a math quiz. Not looking forward to all the studying I have to do tonight!

Tomorrow marks one week until my birthday and the start of December!

Have a great day!

Monotones of Blues

 Hello fashionistas!
I put together this little outfit last weekend. Mom and I ran some errands and shopped.

Sweater: JcPenny Chambray: Vintage Jeans: Gloria Vanderbilt Shoes: Payless Necklace: Forever 21

I like the way the chambray top just peeks out of the bottom of the sweater and the color comes out of the sweater. To add a little bit of sweetness to this outfit I chose my heart bow locket necklace. Too coordinate with the necklace and blue tones I went with my trusty, old, silver studded flats.

I paired this with simple makeup. Brown eyeliner on the bottom, loads of mascara, and a berry lipstick.

I'm pre-writing this post, so when you all read this I'll be with my best friend Lily. Casual end of the week sleepover! Saturday is the marking of the "Nights of Lights" downtown, so we plan on walking down and getting hot cocoa with some other friends.

Have a splendid weekend!

Homecoming 2011

Hello fashionistas!
As promised, here is my homecoming 2011 post!
I went with my best friend Lily, Kali, Asia, and Isabella. We had a really fun time!
Here are some of pictures we took.

Dress: Jones New York Shoes: Nine and Co from JCP Earrings: Mom's

Dress: Ross Shoes: Payless Earrings: her mom's

Lily and I both went for black dresses with a pop of color in the shoes. Seen as the theme was "neon nights" I chose bright blue, suede heels.

My eye makeup. I wish I could remember what I had used, but I don't really recall what it was.

Lily's eye makeup, again sorry I don't remember what I used on her!

The ticket.

 All of us girls!

Left to right: Asia, Isabella, Kali, Lily, and yours truly!
Anyone else find it hysterical how Lily manages to STILL tower over us in flats while we all had on high heels? I'm so envious of her height.

Best friends until the end!

My mom♥

My sister and I with Lily and her sister.

After the many pictures were taken (we must have taken over a 100 pictures) we went out to dinner at a local seafood restaurant. Then we went to homecoming. Danced it up and had some good laughs. All in all it was pretty grand night!

I hope you all had a great weekend!

Teal, Black, and Curls

Hello fashionistas!
I though I would share what I wore today with you all.
My mom is away visiting her family, so photo props go to Nana, thanks Nan!
Also, this is my hundred and one outfit post!

Sorry for the strange smiles in the upclose pics. Not sure what was going on with my mouth!
Also, sorry for looking extremely pale, macro was on. I like macro the most, even if it does make me look pale.

Top: JCP Jeans: GV Blazer: Kohls Shoes: Target

I raided mom's closet today and borrowed this shirt. Thanks mom..
I thought the teal would look great with the blazer, so I just needed to borrow it.
The metal grommets on it caused me to forgo any accessories, which is a very rare thing for me to do.
Today was the first chilly day down here in FL, so I opted to curl my hair.

For my makeup I channeled my inner Rachel Zoe, aka my idol. I love her! Dark lipstick, subtle flush to the cheeks, mascara, and liner on the bottom lashline. Super easy.

While I was comfortable in my blazer, half of the school decided to wear parkas/sweatshirts. Floridians are so annoying about the cold, they act like it's below zero. I kid you not, I'm walking outside to a class and some guy said "man it's like negative degrees out here, I'm freezing!" It was literally only 65 degrees. I silently started cracking up.

School is going pretty well. Grades are due on Tuesday. As of now it looks like I'm going to have all As and one B in chemistry. On the history test I took last week I got a 98% , which I was extremely pleased about!
All of my other classes are going well, chemistry is just tough. I'm happy with a B in it, because it's a weighted class it will still be worth 3.5 points (GPA). All of my other weighted classes should cancel out the B.

Any-who, I'm off to go do homework. If I want to keep my grades up, I have to work for it!

Lots of love!

Gwen and Janice- Halloween Party

Hello fashionistas!
I though I'd share Lily and I's halloween party costumes.
The theme was to dress as a musician, so I decided to go as Gwen Stefani because I knew I could easily throw on a dress, heels, poof the hair, and rock some fun makeup. Lily decided to go as Janice Joplin, who was from the 60s. Lily opted for this because she didn't come up with a costume until the night before. Basically she made her hair even crazier than normal and slipped on some retro glasses, which she could not see out of all night due to the fact that she's out of contacts.

Dress: New York and Company Shoes: JCP Bracelet: F21 Lipstick: MAC Red

Here's my inspiration for my costume.

 Here's Lily's inspiration..
Attractive. Nice coke bottle glasses. Which Lily rocked that night.

The party was pretty fun. A bunch of people who are in bands at our school played. Whenever there is a party all of the band guys insist on bringing their amps and 'jam out'. I typically don't recognize most of their songs. Oh, and there was a "bass battle". It was so lame, I'm not even sure who won!

Haulin' It Up!

Hello fashionistas!
I'm so sorry I haven't updated in a few days! I've had another super busy week/weekend.

Yesterday mom and I shopped it up at the mall because I needed shoes for homecoming and then we bought some other things..

Mom and I hit the Sephora and picked up a couple of things. The primer potion duo was on sale for $19, down from the original $26. I was happy that I saw this because I'm almost out of my original primer potion.
I needed more of my Benefit boi-ing concealer, so I also picked up that.

We also went to MAC because I went to a Halloween party last night as Gwen Stefani, and I needed a red lipstick. I bought M.A.C. Red.
Here's a swatch of it.

Afterwards we ran into Forever 21 for a few minutes and I found this bracelet. I loved it,so I ended up buying this too.

Ta-da, homecoming shoes! Our theme is 'Neon' (which is such a lame theme, just throwing that out there).
These shoes are from JCP. We had checked 4 other shoe stores and any shoes I liked were all too big on me or not high enough.
Then we ran across these and I fell in love. My dress is black so I thought I'd do a little pop of color in my shoes. I wore these with my Gwen Stefani outfit last night to break them in before homecoming, I didn't want my feet to hurt that night!

It's been a really nice weekend. I'm currently with the best friend, Lily. We're watching Say Yes To the Dress, aka on of my favorite shows. I really like wedding shows!

Have you guys done any hauling this weekend?

Lots of love!

Patterned.

Hello fashionistas!
I wore this to school on Tuesday.
I borrowed the dress from the mother, I love the fact that I can just borrow her stuff when I'm not feeling anything of mine! On the other hand, mom doesn't always love it.
Thanks mom!

Dress: Kohl's Tanktop and bracelets: Forever 21 Blazer: JCP Necklace: ? Mom gave it to me Shoes: Target

I finally wore my new Target sandals and they were extremely comfortable! I like that they have all the comfort factors of a regular, flat sandal, but they have a little wedge!

This dress was incredibly soft, I seriously wish I had gotten one back when mom did...
I don't know if you guys have noticed, but I always wear my blazers (especially this one) with dresses because most of the dresses are tank top strap, and at school we can't have tank top straps. So that would be the reason behind the constant blazers. And the fact that I love blazers!

School was pretty good today, took my math quiz, passed with a 90%! I just accidently left out a negative sign. We started working on our 'breadth' for my AP 3D class. It felt good to be working with clay again, I really missed it. Pottery is one of my favorite classes ever. I love it.

It's almost the weekend, so yey!
